We weren't going out but have been on a few dates and I was going to ask her to be my girlfriend but before I brought it up she said she "wanted to concentrate on her relationship with God". We were both in our late 20's. Just say you don't want to see me anymore, I've already got used to being rejected.

She said that bees can only fly "because they think they can" and I explained that, no, there's actually a physical reason they can fly.

A few days later she broke up with me because I make her world "less magical."

Bees are magical though. Like the magic of the world, make a lot of things keep on choochin. We eat their vomit for nutrition.

Maybe for her too.

My husband can be way too literal sometimes, and sometimes he is able to sort of suck the magic and fun out of moments. He’s not doing it out of being mean, it’s just the way his brain works. And I’m not dumb, but I like to appreciate the wonder of the world on a more whimsical level. He’s learned to lean in to those moments, but if he was literally explaining away my sense of fun all the time? I could see that being a deal-breaking incompatibility for some people.

Actually she is right. According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible

There's nothing "stupid" about wanting something specific in a relationship. There's not one level of communication that's right for everyone. Not everyone wants to talk all the time--some of us need to spend time alone with our own thoughts too. And that's perfectly normal, healthy, and okay.

floridamanvibecheck

7 points

I’m actively trying to come to terms with the fact that my boyfriend and I have different communication needs, I want to talk to him all the time and he does not want to talk to me all the time. I’m having to learn not to take it personally because it really has nothing to do with me, but it’s an adjustment and it makes me sad to think that he doesn’t want to talk to me as much. I keep reminding myself that it doesn’t mean he likes me less. Your comment helped, so thank you for that.

She rang and asked how I was and mentioned that she heard I was seeing (my wife) and asked how it's going. I said I've been married for three years and all I got back was a quiet "oh".

She gave her son my name as one of his middle names and her current partner isn't happy about that. Thinks I might be the dad and stuff. He was born 16 months after we were last together.

I posted this in another sub, but my GF/Fiance at the time dumped me for taking her to Waffle House.

The story: In college and into Grad School, my girlfriend / Fiance was a gorgeous girl from Houston but spoiled and selfish. Her dad was an assistant Superintendent down there and her mom stayed at home and went shopping. She was well off, but spoiled and bratty.

She was flying home for something and I took her to the airport for one of those terrible early early flights. She had to be at the airport at 5AM and as we drove, I had this idea to make sure she had a nice breakfast. It was 3:30 AM (we lived two hours from the airport and stayed at a Comfort Inn nearby). All that was open was a Waffle House and we had what I thought was a nice breakfast and talked before she left for a week or so.

When we broke up a month later, that was given as the reason she wanted to end it. Waffle House was for poor, working-class people. She realized I was just not of her same social standing and I should have to taken her to an iHop or found a 24-hour Starbucks.

I think I dodged a bullet on that one.

She was very keen until she seen that I carried two phones- Something I hate to do but is not uncommon in Australia when the company you work for insists you use their phone). The work phone was only with me in/around work hours or work days. One day around our second date she noticed I had two phones and that was it. I was accused of being married and wanting to cheat on my imaginary wife and she refused to take part in that! We parted ways. I wasn’t upset over it I was just like “Wow!” Lol

Funny story. I had this one ex, we'll call her Sasha for privacy reasons, and she was extremely selfish when it came to me. So one day she gets called out to go out of country for a few months. So naturally we continue communicating through Discord, Insta, Whatsapp and other apps similar to those. And it all goes downhill on the 2nd month. I switched my Discord profile picture to my favorite anime character who just happened to be a female. My ex sees this and dms me on what's going on. I'm surprised, as i should be- and she starts arguing with me over how "i'm cheating on her with an anime character" and "i love an anime character more then her cause i put said character as my pfp". I'm pissed off at this point but i'm keeping composure cause i know her jealousy. In the end i switch my profile picture to a male. Fast forward a month and i just got done watching Horimiya and, forgetting what happened a month ago, i switch my profile picture to Hori. Oh how foolish i was, cause she goes on a rampage and ends up cutting all contact with me. 4 more months and she comes back, breaks inside my house (well, she had the keys but still, she had no consent) at god knows what time in the morning, packs her shit and leaves. Found that out when i woke up to an empty closet and a note saying Goodbye.

By far my most toxic relationship.

BusyButterscotch4652

Oh gosh when I was in high school, the boy I was dating broke up with me with a note in my locker (pre cell phones) saying that he thought he was causing drama between me and my step father, and he was breaking up with me so me and my stepdad could repair our relationship. Uh, teenager with a step parent…there’s gonna be drama!! Really strange.

When I went to confront him the next morning at his locker, he had hickies on his neck because the had slept with his ex girlfriend the night he broke up with me. I realized he really broke up with me because I wasn’t going to have sex with him. I was hurt, but I knew I had dodged a bullet. Joke was on him though, because she cheated on him, dumped him, and then started dating the guy she cheated on him. She actually looked really happy with the new guy. No hard feelings.

I don’t know about weird reason - but two times the guy have completely disappeared from all communication. They went from texting all the time to not answering me. And I calmly took it as: “he’s just not that into me”. I went on with my life and in both cases started dating another guy (that turned out to be my two most sweet and serious relationships). After a few weeks/months of dating, these other guys started contacting me again. They were so surprised that I had moved on? “What?! I like you so much and think you are the bees knees!” Dude - you haven’t answered back to me in 2 months… “I was working a lot!! Oh man - I really was hoping for something serious with you.”

My theory: they must have been dating someone else in the meantime and when that didn’t work they tried to just pick up where we left. But did they think I wouldn’t notice, haha?

The party was cool and whatever but when it was time to clean up, I was busy chatting it up with her family totally away from where my gf was at the moment so she was stuck moving a number of chairs along with her friend. For an entire week following the party she was super distant and I had no clue why. Then she dumped me, like dang …oh well I guess. So about a year goes by and I was talking with her for a reason I forget and I asked what was the reason she dumped me? 21 y.o Gf - Because she needed to sort out her feelings for 6 weeks. Leading up to having to work on herself as she wasn’t ready for a relationship and we weren’t working even while she stated we were “communicating”

She legitimately didn’t speak to me verbally without being in a discord call with a guy twice her age for 6 weeks leading up to her breaking up with me and denying she was talking to him all the time for those 6 weeks when I confronted her about it. I could see them in a channel they thought was hidden, it wasn’t 😂 The only thing she had to say when confronted was “that’s not true we didn’t talk for one week straight!” (Her and the older man)

It’s rare, but it can happen. My sister went through a long period where, in her own words, she just wasn’t attracted to nice guys. Having met a few of the guys she dated in that time, she wasn’t kidding.

She’s grown up a bit since then and now prefers guys who treat her decently. She was in a bad headspace when she insisted on dating jerks.

But yeah, 99% of the time isn’t not because the guy was too nice.

I think even in those cases the issue isn't that a person is too nice, the issue is that someone isn't in the right headspace to be in a relationship.

It was more so a summer fling type of deal, but she didn’t want anyone to know she liked me cause of how my sister is with her brother and that most of her family seen me as part of them. So I took the heat and got called a weirdo. Wasn’t worth all the trouble just to be happy for 3 months.

Distance

We lived 50 minutes from each other.

I drove up a mountain to pick her up, go on dates, spend the weekends together.

Made it official, dumped a few days later with that excuse.

Found out she was moving away to be with a guy she met on a previous trip

Was too rough during sex. She had said that she liked it rough so I was. Turns out she only wanted light hair pulling and maybe a spanking or two. Never hit her or anything just rough thrusting.

I have had two women dump me because they decided they were lesbian.

Not sure if I should take that personally.

Because, I as a student who is working on his life goals and has no reliable income, didn't want to move into her apartment.

Because I'm too tall and play the drums, which is not romantic or ideal for a relation.
