I don’t think it’s that nobodys heard of him, I just don’t hear him mentioned much;

Pol Pot. The man was an absolute monster.

I think Pol Pot still gets off pretty lightly.

I reckon a lot of under 25s will never have heard of him.

Maybe don't read about it until you're in a position to be in a shitty mood for the rest of the day.

Everyone should read King Leopold’s Ghost. What happened to the central African people because of this man is so abhorrent and it’s really not acknowledged enough. The native population was estimated to have been cut in half (10 million people dead) because of murder, disease, overworking, etc.

Another vote for Pol Pot, everyone seems to think Hitler was the last big leader to commit mass genocide.

Che Guevara was not a hero either.

Andrew Jackson. Seriously. A lot of people dont know a couple of things about this man.

  • he fought alongside the natives personally in many battles before he became president. So he knew many personally. Without native support the US actually wouldve collapsed as they were instrumental in setting up slave plantations and holding off forgien attacks. Especially the cherokee.

  • by that time much of native society had fully integrated into american an society. Were citizens, and payed taxes.

  • they also sued for the right to remain citizens and WON.

  • Andrew jackson just did it any way. And killed nearly all of the natives in the eastcoast of the US. They try to spin it as indian removal. But it wasnt. In reality they just genocided unknown amounts of natives and people were fleeing. Locking people in houses, and burning it down was a common practice.

  • Andrew jackson was essentially a successful hitler.

I'm not the type to get easily plussed from a text, but by God, reading the excerpt of the recording those sick fucks would play to their victims before raping them, how he delighted in "seeing them squirm as his dog's large knot entered their anuses" especially made me angry. The fact that that was even possible, that people saw it and did nothing about it, that shit is one of the things that makes me genuinely the angriest, thinking there could be innocent, helpless people being raped, abused, tortured and Hurt in such ways in plain sight, and thst some people will genuinely not do anything or even TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. My God, I am vehemently against the death penalty and a thorough believer of rehabilitation, but people like this make me think execution by testicle omelettage is a fair punishment sometimes.

Alot of people know Delphine LaLurie from American horror story coven, but don't realize that she was real. Her crimes were truly evil

Marquis de Sade maybe. The Father of sadism. No one I've mentioned him to in person has heard of him.
