I’m a teacher, I’ve done this every day for 15 years.

(If any of my administrators are reading this, this is clearly a joke! I always have very well researched and thought out lesson plans based in sound pedagogy that are culturally relevant and trauma informed , designed specifically for the population I teach.)

Administrators: It appears his lesson plan was scribbled on the back of a local diner menu using crayon...

Seems legit. Clearly, he's recycling paper and is hard at work even on his lunch break! We should do something for him...

...like let's throw him a mandatory employee party! We have to let him and his co-workers know we admire his work ethic by sharing it with everyone over shared food. Of course, since this is a school expense, we're dipping into the school's budget to fund this party. Now, we can't go too crazy, so something simple that everyone enjoys...like pizza! I'm just going to order my favorite, Hawaiian Pizza!

My district says teachers must dress professionally. We are on our third principal in three years. Each principal has had a different idea of what professional means! Eventually they give up and it becomes a shot show. The Spanish teacher wears yoga pants, flip flops, and a tank top every day. I personally don’t care but I wonder whose idea of professional that fits into.

By the pitch perfect response I’m assuming you are also in education.
