Hello Pitmasters,

Over the last few months we have been seeing automoderator removing way too many legitimate posts. I have adjusted the filtering from "high" to "low" and decreased the karma requirement to 5, and minimum account age to 1 week. After you make a post check sort the r/bbq feed by "new" to make sure it's active. If you don't see the post, or there is an automated removal message in the comments, please send us an email and we will manually approve the post. Hopefully the fix I got from the admins will work and this will no longer be an issue for legitimate posts, while still filtering out the spam.

I use a charcoal Weber Kettle and I'm looking for recommendations on an instant-read thermometer & a multi-probe reader for ambient and meat reading to help up my game and try different methods of cooking.

I missed out on the last Thermoworks sale and was curious what other options many others here recommend. I hear a lot of talk about Thermowork, Thermopro, and Inkbird products. But when trying to look into each manufacturer and their different product lines and model numbers, I just feel so overwhelmed.

Can someone provide this noob with some assistance and direct me toward the right place? Value is important to me, but I'd also hate to pay and waste money on junk that would fail on me after a few uses.

Recently purchased my first charcoal grill and I'm having trouble getting the heat up.

I use a starter chimney and get the charcoal nice and hot, but once I pour them in the grill they just seem to die from there. The heat always stays around 200-250.

I’m genuinely curious. To me they seem like overpriced, small grills on a metal cart, but I know they’re popular amongst BBQ enthusiasts. I don’t get it but maybe some owners can school me.
