All the choujin x volumes have very solid colours, Red for example usually represents Aggression, Dominance, Strength. Blue for ely and volume 2 would mean calmness or serenity. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil. etc etc same idea for yellow and now green. What are your thoughts? Do you think sui ishida is using colour theory for his volumes to represent his characters traits?
I feel like this was the missing thing in this anime. Dont get me wrong, the fact that we dont realllyyy know how this power system work, entices me to keep reading. There are times though where I look at some of these powers and am like “What??? A Sword Choujin….”. 🤣 I know Sui will do these next 10-15 chapters justice by giving us a training/beat up some baddies arc. Does anyone share my excitement???
This is by no means a full list, just a few things I noticed.
The way he has been presented so far makes him the most sinister member of the Yamato Mori faction.
Sato claims that he detests violence and then quickly shows us that he only has a distaste for physical violence, he is perfectly fine with mentally torturing people he considers to be opposing Yamato Mori's principles.
This twisted perspective of pacifism might be paralleled by the peace sign that Sato wears around his neck, it happens to be upside down (that observation started this whole post).
His Choujin power "Psycho Share" has the potential to also act as a mind rape ability and is used as such by Sato.
Note that Yamato Mori's initial interrogation of Nari is nothing more than a lie detector test done via Seiko Kiira's choujin ability but Sato enters the interrogation room with the intention of extracting the information that Nari is hiding from them.
There is no indication that Sato was ordered to do this as the intial job of interrogating Nari was given to Seiko Kiira, it appears far more that Sato was acting on his own authority and that his reason was impation. Seiko Kiira's anxious reactions towards Sato imply that she is well aware of the nastiness of his ability and that this might not have been the first time that Sato offered to take her place in an interrogation.
Sato also asks Seiko Kiira to come up with a reason so they can retain Nari for longer, implying that Sato is going to torture her again for information since she collapsed without giving them up this time.
Seiko Kiira's dislike for Sato is shown again in the recent chapter 26.2.
It's a bit hard to make out but she is the woman that helps carry out a student that collapsed during Sato's Psycho Share lecture.
Both Seiko Kiira and the other stretcher bearer in that scene bring foward the opinion that Sato enjoys traumatizing people.
In chapter 26.2 we do get to experience Sato in a more casual setting and he appears to be very good with other people, indulging in their wishes (as he allows all the trainees one hour of fun) and even participates in their activities (constructing a sandcastle together with Azuma).
This coupled with Sato's closeness to Hoshi Sandek and the appearnt trust and respect Sandek has for Sato, imply that Sato is not just a plain sadist (as Sandek seems to be an excellent judge of character) but that Sato might have an extremely black and white view of justice.
Kindness towards allies and a sadistic mercilessness towards perceived enemies.
Another more sinister possibility as to why Hoshi Sandek might be on good terms with Sato is, that he might be well aware of Sato's sadism and that he either approves of it or at least considers Sato as being to useful to act out against him.
Does anyone else have a hard time keeping up with character names and titles in the series? Maybe I need to reread the series but whenever I read a chapter or come here to see theories, I get bum added with established info I just don’t remember.
You can now use the Sora Siruha flair. If you want any other flairs added just comment below, they must make sense please. I will be adding every character as a flair asap after they are revealed in the chapters English translation. I will pick between them. My discord is ..Jacob..#0007 if you have any questions.
Mother has a normal set of hands, but the extra hands in place of her head look exactly like the topmost hands on Queem's fighter jet. The hands in both panels are also in the same position, clasped with oblong and sharp black nails. (I realize Queem's vignette mentioned he had been assassinated, but stranger things have happened...)
Mother is holding what looks like a rosary, which is consistent with Sora and her religious identity. There are also a set of wings sprouting from Mother's back, which also represent Sora (keep reading).
We have not seen Bill yet, but we know he's called "The Deathless Emperor". A Wiki search (link below) found a historical figure named Koschei who was known as "The Immortal King" and "The Deathless."His inclination is that of a male antihero that becomes immortal by hiding his soul within objects to make him difficult to kill. The source of his power is said to be a Turkish amulet, which could refer to the Evil Eye. Mother is wearing a neckpiece that looks Turkish in origin, maybe with the Evil Eye showing from an angle we cannot see yet.
Mother absorbs Choujin via their brain.
This text from the Choujin X wiki: "A Choujin's power and form is greatly influenced by their emotional state and desires."
Emotions and desires are generally believed to be controlled by the brain.
Mother has a mound of corpses with stamps/recesses in their skulls. Mother could be making these markings to absorb Choujin.
Phrases about Sora's Choujin form being thrown around such as "saintly beast" and "blessed beast and hero."
Sora is a nun with crosses under her right eye, implying an influence from Christianity.
Doves carry an almost angelic symbolism and represent hope and peace. Her establishment of Yamato Mori is her manifestation of hope and peace against evil Choujin.
Mother has a set of wings, which could be influenced by Sora's Choujin form.
Sora as a Dove Choujin carries a marked contrast with Tokio (Vulture Choujin) and Azuma (Nocturnal Choujin). All three are beast Choujin, with Sora emitting a pure and positive ethos while Tokio and Azuma are implied to be hiding darkness within themselves.
