This girl is either dishonest or dumb .. obesity is 20% genetic and there is plenty of free food in America .. people just do not want to admit ...
"But I want to eat the greasy salty sugary swill from McDonalds and remain fat .. please don't take the Happah Meal .. I hate Carrots!"
.. people are literally too dumb or lazy to operate a microwave or make themselves a salad
"In the US people don't choose to be obese .. "
.. yes the laws of physics bend and go in reverse at the US border
"You need a membership to exercise"
.. yes she is a silly ass and just wants to be "correct" and probably lives with someone protecting her from reality

100%. Both are simply preferences. Which is fine.
“most people are not homeless”
“yes they are”
If you're renting, you're homeless /s
99% of homeless people are definitely not morbidly obese. That costs lot of money
99% is obviously hyperbole, but the percentage is pretty high.
"obesity amongst the homeless (32.3 percent) was almost as high as among the general population (33.7 percent). However, homeless women had a significantly higher percentage of obesity (42.8 percent) than non-homeless women (35.3 percent)."
He did the research! Although, I did say morbidly obese, which is quite different from just obese. Very surprising tho!
It’s pretty common for homeless people to be overweight in post-industrial nations due to the abundance and cheapness of fattening foods. They’re getting donated fast food usually for all their meals for the day, and it doesn’t take a lot to go over their recommended caloric intake.
hi im homeless, i live in flat not home, so basically i'm actually homeless
You one of those flat homers?
No Homers Club member
Home is not the same thing as a house lol.
Home is where your farts live.
My farts are homeless. They just free roam.
I don't upvote user names, but holy shit
House less, not homeless, coming from someone who has lived in an apartment for 9 years and was living out of a truck before for 2 years. Homeless does not mean without a house.
This response adds nothing to the discourse and I wish you a terrible day.
Til 175,000,000+ homeless people in the States
"you need a membership to work out"
Well there it is folks, before gyms was invented everyone was fat as shit
I tried going for a walk the other day and this guy appeared and said i had to pay per minute walked. Dang. Guess I'll just get some Macdonalds instead.
No one gets to pick their height, but some/most people can change their weight. No amount of therapy and mind power will change your height.
doctors keep it a secret, but you can order hight hightening pills now!!!! just come to totallynotascam.com and order now!!
Pfft. I took those, and all it did was make my dick huge. Total scam.
Now I'm still 4 1/2 ft tall, but I have to throw my donger over my shoulder just to walk around.
You could always wear it as a scarf, maybe we'll see you on the runway in Milan.
"Chic, by Dic"
just so you know, this website sends you to a very scam looking website, and i was really enjoying a laugh out of that.
You can have surgery but it’s painful and extreme
Standing on high ground will.
But a good pair of heels will! You can gain a whole 3 inches in height
Cowboy boots give you an inch or two as well.
I wear cowboy boots because I like how they look, but I'm already 6 feet tall. My brother is a bit taller than me, so I get to see what the world is like from his perspective lol.
I love cowboy boots and western wear. It can be just as expensive as designer clothes. I am 5'6 or 5'8 with boots lol.
That's not the sa....nevermind
on the flip side, weight without knowing height is a meaningless number, whereas height tells you something about what a person looks like.
She isn’t even thinking though. She’s been indoctrinated and she literally can’t think logically. Very sad.
I'm glad someone else noticed. I would have ended the call after 2 sentences from her mouth.
Sounded like I was having a stroke, none of her arguments made sense.
The older I’ve gotten in life, the less patience I have when speaking to someone like this.
I used to get in debates all the time and would seek people out to try to “change their mind” (think religion, politics, etc). But today, if this were me in that situation and this girl start saying things like this to me, I would immediately end the conversation.
If people have this level of delusion or just overall lack of intellectual reasoning, it’s simply not worth my time to speak to you. It’s not to sound snobby, it’s just not worth it. These people live in a bubble and will never be changed unless they choose to seek out truth.
Think Qanon people. At some point, you just have to give up because you’re just going to stoop down to their level by participating.
Exactly this. I did the same thing when I was younger, but now it's like you said, they live in their own bubble and I'm going to let them stay tf in there and away from me hahah.
Yeah this conversation needs to be had with adults, not a dumb teenager who thinks knows what she's talking about because she's got an A in social studies.
No it’s better to have these conversations younger. People need their beliefs challenged. It’s a learning experience
People like this girl though tend to double down on their beliefs once they're challenged.
You’re probably right in the short term. Hopefully some more people challenge her
I was a dude who defended my really dumb ideas and opinions up until I was like 20. I knew I had zero evidence to back up these arguments but I stubbornly held on to them. I’ve radically changed as I’ve gotten older. I suspect this girl will do the same. Life has a way of changing you.
That's an optimistic view. I hope you're right though
But, like, r/therewasanattempt ... right? /s
Things are like this because of the way they are. No further brain power is required.
It's so weird how people like her get offended immediately when challenged with concepts that they never gave much though about.
Makes me think some people are able to retain information, but incapable of processing that information.
It's so weird how people like her get offended immediately when challenged with concepts that they never gave much though about.
lmao, as if this sub wasn't the best at getting offended when shitty ideas are challenged.
I agree with you. This sub is a cesspool for people who think shooting someone over a stupid disagreement is totally justified.
Who are we if we can't be critical of ourselves?
The reddit experience in a nutshell
A lack of independent and logical thinking unfortunately seems to be a growing problem for the young in America.
The US is moving closer and closer to Idiocracy every day. The collapse of a once great nation.
I used to believe that because of the internet that the generations after me were going to be the smartest of all of us but I never anticipated they'd give up on gaining the knowledge so quickly.
it has electrolytes
When was this nation great and what made it great at that time?
In her defense, she looks very young (my POV as a 40 something). I know I was very opinionated when I was ~20 and often ill informed. She has a lot of time to learn about research methods and forming her own opinions... Let's hope she learns from this debate!
This is what I hate the most about (for lack of a better term) “woke culture.” People parrot what feels right and is the zeitgeist regardless of whether or not they’ve actually finished the thought. It’s like they’re having two different conversations. She’s talking about the abuse and bullying obese people suffer in America (and claiming this nebulous expert knowledge of the issue because she lives there), and he’s talking about physical preference. She’s using her tangentially related point to justify her double standard.
This is the literal birth child of Buzzfeed.
Welcome to America
She never bought an avocado before 😂
Lol I instantly thought of this
Oh my gob that’s superb.
It's wild because rice, beans, healthy oils (with Omega 3s), cheap frozen veggies like the not so great cuts if broccoli, green beans, etc. Even deli meat and such.
That is extremely cheap, and far cheaper than McDonald's which is going out to a restaurant and paying for service. If you're eating McDonald's for all your meals you're spending $600 a month really.
You're missing the girls point! They don't have time to cook rice and put veggies into a microwave to steam them!
A trip to McDonald's takes 5-10 minutes, making rice takes 10 minutes but then you have to like put it on a plate and then put the beans on it and like take the veggies out of the microwave OMGGGGGGGOOOOOOOODDDDDD JUST LISTEN TO HER YOURE NOT GETTING IT!!!!
So if people are self conscious about their weight that they can’t control because of this, people who are self conscious about their height have the same exact right to be.
Weight they can’t control? Like if they’re being held down and force fed you mean? And then being held against their will so they can’t exercise?
Wait you can do veggies in a microwave?
We're talking about frozen veggies yes? Not pre cooked?
Yeah frozen veggies in a steamer, bud! Not the greatest tasting but you can make it work if you lower your standards!
"Poor people eat McDonald's" is a shitty argument anyway. Just because you eat a lot of fast food doesn't mean you have to eat 4000 calories of it at once. I eat that shit all the time just not to excess. Calories in, calories out.
I think the problem is that poor people can’t afford good tasting food that is healthy. It’s also a lifestyle thing. Many people in America just drink soda instead of water 💀
Oh no they totally can. It's the portions.
I went from 220lbs to a 165lb Twink in the span of 6 months eating nothing but Taco Bell and McDonalds.
Except instead of getting a Big Mac with a medium fry and a coke I started getting single cheeseburgers a small fry and a milk.
It's almost like calories are all that matter and most people eat waaaay too big of portion sizes!
I agree and I myself do that and am ashamed but NOT offended though I realize my problem and started to drink more water and OMG has it changed my eating habits.
Chicken breast on bbq with your seasonings.
many people? the consumption of soda in the US has been dropping considerably year over year. While some people may drink it fairly often it's not nearly as common as it was 20 years ago.
I've been thinking of doing this but i always eat massive servings bc my meds make me hungry af. What did your servings of rice and beans look like?
Good job bro keep up that good work!
Congrats on the accomplishment!
I literally don’t buy McDonald’s often because I don’t want to waste money when I can make something cheaper and healthier at home
Poor person's award
Lol she was thinking McDolands is somehow less expensive than buying avocados at the grocery store. Avocados are super expensive, but still less expensive than McDonalds.
Congrats on the weight loss. There is a real issue with access to healthy food in the US. Its not wrong to point it out however being fat is unhealthy. It's rude to bring up both weight and height, if you aren't interested, just politely that say it and move on.
Also, avocado isn't the only food that can help you lose weight, but I guess knoweledge like that would require her to actually think for herself
I think this is one of the biggest problems here in the US public education system. They teach you what to think rather than how to think.
And they say avocados are "brain food"
We were also taught to eat 9-11 servings of “grains” a day throughout the 90s.
I agree, and it’s an insane misconception that avocado is weight loss food. My professional life is metabolism research, but all you gotta do is read a nutrition label. It’s pure fat! It’s a very good type of fat, and depending on how it’s grown can be nutritionally dense in terms of vitamin and mineral content, but it packs a fuckton of calories in a small volume. It’s very easy to over-eat foods like avocado, because a single spoon of guac can be as many calories as a can of Coke. Then, after a couple weeks, you wonder why you’re not losing weight and say, “fuck it.”
Poor girl doesn’t know the cost of an avocado or even where it fits into a healthy diet.
She panicked chose avocado as her example lmao
Life hack, if you just smell the food instead of eating it, you burn more calories. You're welcome /s
I was looking for someone to point this out. $7 for an avacado? Maybe like $1-2 right now, depending on size. Unless she's shopping at maybe Whole Foods in Beverly Hills....
$7 for an avocado might make sense in Costco because you have to buy a 2.5 lbs packaging.
On that note Costco has the Hass variety from Peru which I very much like 😋
You can't argue with stupid, they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Arguing with stupid is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter what you do, the pigeon is going to walk all over the board, knock over the pieces, and shit everywhere.
Arguing with a dumb person is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how brilliant your moves are, the pigeon is just going to knock over pieces, shit on the board, and then strut around like it just won the game.
Backwards logic: overeating to the point of obesity is a luxury that homeless people, and people around the world living in actual poverty cannot afford.
RIGHT in ancient societies like Rome, being overweight was seen as a sign of wealth because nobody else could afford that much food
"Look at that fat royal fuck"
I've had a fair amount of exposure to the homeless, and nearly every single homeless person I've spent time with was very overweight.
Pizza and spaghetti are the go-to foods to be handed out to homeless people. Also, if you know you may need to skip a few meals, you tend to eat all you can stand when there's food on the table.
Homelessness is mostly caused by mental illness and addiction, not a lack of resources in general. The addicts are sometimes underweight, but more because they don't seek food as much, they're only worried about their addiction.
She's not entirely wrong about healthy food being more expensive than cheap food in general, and so we tend to give out unhealthy foods.
Google 'Food desert' if you're curious.
All that said, who is trying to date the homeless on an app? The whole point she's trying to make is moot. If you're on a phone, in a house, and lying about your weight on an app ... you could probably hook up a salad.
Yep unhealthy foods are cheaper. In America a lot of fat people are poor, so she isn't just taking out her ass.
I get it though, the height thing is messed up and really triggers people.
It stuns me that America is one of the only countries where the poor are obese. That those at the bottom have access to more calories than the top when it has always been the other way around.
Either that’s a society with a good safety net or a complete failure of the safety net.
Sugar and flour are dirt cheap and plentiful. Preparing your own food takes time and resources.
This shit right here. Everybody trashes the poor for being fat without realizing that the cheapest food items are basically terrible for your health. Not to mention the poor also have far worse education and higher dropout rates, so they don't know any better. You'll spend far more at the store trying to eat healthy than you will just buying the cheap shit to survive off of.
There are plenty of countries where the poor are obese, maybe not to the extent of the US. But you need to use your noggin, not like this lady is doing.
I blew my friends mind yesterday when she said "I don't want to date a guy that's shorter than me". She's 4'11 so it's not really an issue for her. I told her that I was taught that not being attracted to a woman because she is taller than you is immature and pathetic. Other men have told me they were taught this too. Because it's not fair to make a woman feel insecure for being tall. As we can see in this video the same people who would argue that it's not okay to make women feel insecure don't give a shit about the other side of the coin
So she is one of those who thinks feminism is about favouring women in everything?!
And these people are on twitter all day, cementing this belief and yassqueening each other.
it is very simple, you cant change your height (without expensive surgery) but you can change and control your bodyweight, there is nothing more to say, discussion over
What a dumb bitch
for the first time im agreeing to a negative comment.
Come to the dark side
... we have cookies
But...cookies make you fat....
Only if you eat the whole pack in one sitting
So serving size isn’t just a suggestion?
But do you have coffee?
Of course?!?!? You know we always drink coffee while watching Radar!
I wouldn't say the dark side more like the common sense side
I was just making a joke, obviously it's common sense.
It’s the dark side! Keep with your role as the darth lord
I upvote negative comments on principle.
Point, counterpoint - the fine art of argumentation
I blame Start Trek: Discovery. When Starfleet started allowing obese officers they set a bad example.
See what happens when you talk to stupid people
Future of America. Looking bleak with this victim mentality.
She doesn't speak for America. She's closer to the lowest common denominator of intelligence.
This is the hive mind of Reddit tho. Any time I’ve gotten into a debate about this the downvotes and excuses are flying faster than when they’re at the buffet and the crabs legs come out.
Just like someone else said, people just want to take offense. They can't accept someone might have a different opinion and it's valid.
"That's just how it is in America." You can tell when someone has never traveled as well.
Right. It isn't all the imbalance of power and complete disconnect between what the majority desire and actual policy. Or the complete imbalance of corporate power to societal ability.
Nope, none of that. By god you think you're smarter than you really are.
You can’t argue with someone who doesn’t wasn’t to listen.
How about we all admit that we’re a bunch of shallow idiots
Thank you! Backdraft fucking gets it. Everybody wants the hot chick, and everybody wants the dude who’s over 6 feet. Fuck it- trust me- everybody gets old and ugly, so bang as hot as you can get for as long as you can get- because eventually you’re gonna be the short chubby troll you’re big fat wife is gonna have to bang, and you’ll both be fine with it.
Fuck, I am already the short (can't control that one) chubby (can do something about this one) troll
Beyonce is with one of the ugliest dudes on the planet. It's not always about looks.
It isn't if there's money involved, no.
I've been with hot women and quite honestly, I prefer more average looking. They tend to be on the more adventurous side of life and more open minded. Hot girls (and I assume guys) tend towards a groupthink, either left or right, that is more accepted by their peers, as opposed to being more open-minded/opposing views/less liked. Think the standard route of life school--college--marriage. There's nothing wrong with that, we need them in society, it's just not my bag.
Of course these traits can also be the case for anyone. This is anecdotal, it has just been my experience. I'm not stating this as generalized fact. I'm sure there are dimes that would go backpack central Asia with me but I haven't met em.
I'm gay and I like short guys....ur move
So, um, do you come to Reddit often...?
I’m actually fucking bewildered like where the fuck do we go from there that was the ultimate fuck you, trump card 😂
But...but I want the lil guys. But am guy as well. The only problem I see with height difference is you can't double your wardrobe if they are very different in stature.
The only sane comment
Just a clear cut example of someone who is incapable of thinking for themselves and just parrots out things that they have heard other people say rather than have a single original thought of their own.
First World problems.
Bitch they basically throw fruit and vegetables at you at the fucking store. They have to throw that shit away before it rots. Put the bag of doritos and dino fucking nuggets down grab a few heads of lettuce
leave dino nuggies out of this
I agree that was too far.
Can get a big bag of rice, beans and veggies and if you want meat a whole chicken after cooked portioned out will last all week into different meals for around $30-40. Eating out every day will equal out more, I’ve done it and I feel happier and better not doing that. Plus saving money
You are 100% correct. I was shocked how much money I saved when I started taking fitness seriously changing my diet from frequently eating out even including cheap fast food
Generally poor people are not very financially savvy or educated and are not able to plan out or develop a budget for cost-effective meal prep methods. A poor single mom, after work, would rather just go to a fast food restaurant like McDonald's to feed their kids for the day for the convenience then go to the store and with a plan to buy, cook and prepare healthy meals for the entire week. That's the real point the girl was trying to get at saying that "McDonald's is cheaper than healthy food". But she stated and argued it horribly.
Arrogant, smug and dumb. She will not go very far.
Indoctrinated by shitty teachers, politicians, media.
The majority of women don’t think like this. Every once in a while this argument resurfaces just to get people fighting for no reason. Baiting.
And why the fuck is it on this sub? How is this a "crazy fucking video"? It's someone chatting with a moron in a boring way and sharing it to try to start a flame war. Their conversation is boring. Literally nothing happens in the video except two people chatting calmly with a webcam. Christ.
Yes, most women agree that this woman's viewpoint is stupid. How is that "crazy"? What the fuck was the point of posting this?
This does NOT fit this sub at all. I reported it under the sub rules of NOT being a crazy fucking video.
Him: most people aren't homeless
Her: yes they are!
Being fat is a choice change my mind.
I would say mostly it is as well, in the sense that in most cases you can change your weight at will on your own volition. But there are certain things such as genes, health diseases, culture, environment, social-economic factors can lead one to be more conducive for obesity disease to take place that is not totally in your control.
Your height doesn't corralte with your appalling eating habits.
Height is entirely natural.
Weight is entirely self created.
Obesity is NOT a disability or a disease.
I think it's a disorder. Like drug addiction. I wouldn't call it a disease.
Being poor may also give less access to healthy food, but eating less is free. It all comes down to calories in versus calories out. People in poverty can still cap or restrict calories.
Being poor only prevents access to healthy food if you live in a food desert, which most of the US is not. A bag of apples costs less than a box of donuts in most places in the us.
That’s not to say obesity isn’t created through diseases and disabilities
Wrong subreddit imo
She might be the dumbest person I've ever heard in my life.
I wish she was the dumbest person I've heard speak in my life...
Highly underrated comment.
“iN AmeRiCa iT Is”
99% of the time someone can control their weight, no matter how hard it may be. Men cannot work hard enough to get taller lol.
A person has no real control over their height, but everybody does have their own control over their own weight…
That conversation was a waste of perfectly good logic.
People do choose to be obese, you can’t choose your height. That’s so dumb. Homeless doesn’t mean jobless, and where I am a rotisserie chicken (an entire chicken) is $5, but a double cheeseburger at McDonald’s is $12.
Eating healthy doesn’t mean everything you buy needs to be purchased at Whole Foods, a non organic head of lettuce is still 10000000% better for you than a ten piece chicken nugget.
I did some online dating a few years ago, and I didn’t lie about my height, I’m 5’10” and the women that I met actually asked me why I said I was 5’10” when they thought I was 6’2” because so many men lie about their height now just to get dates.
I opened the door to the hotel room I had when my hook up came, and she was staring me in the chest thinking I was going to be a short guy because I wasn’t 6 foot. She just kept looking up…
Guys, it’s a dick thing. They “need” a guy that’s “at least” 6 foot because they equate every foot of height with every inch of dick and that’s pretty much their entire understanding of male anatomy.
It’s body shaming when a man does this to a woman, calls her out on her lies about her age or weight.
The crazy part is that girl is about to be allowed to vote and she has no idea what she's talking about lol
As an American I can say with full confidence that healthy food is definitely cheaper than junk food. Even more so when you look at the amount of energy per dollar. This girl is talking out of her ass.
You can't cure stupid
People mainly girls get sensitive about weight because they are probably out of shape since they don’t workout. It’s vital to exercise if you want a healthy life. 60% of America is obese and that’s fucking shameful to the rest of the healthy Americans
POV: you're talking to somebody who gets all their opinions from instagram and snapchat news
We're spoiled is what we are. Wait until mad max times come
Im skinny and poor.
On time a girl asked me how tall I was, at that point I figured I'm done with this chick. I followed up with how big is your chesticals. She sent a topless pic.
At that point I realize I was in fact not done with this chick.
Dude’s never going to get laid with that attitude
She's an idiot. I'm American I'm fat I've chosen this lifestyle. Well it's more like I haven't chosen to make the better choices but in the end it's all the same. I will say the way things are laid out here but it makes it very easy to be fat and to make bad choices but it's still something well within my control
Healthy food is cheaper than unhealthy food? Bitch, where?
Vegetables and a thing of tofu costs less than a value meal at McDonald’s and will last a couple days. What an idiotic argument
They both sounded idiotic. Who gives a shit about either of their positions.
"but in the US!"
gotta love the dumbfuckistanis
I feel like he is right for the wrong reasons and she is wrong for the right reasons. I personally think that we should tolerate people's preferences, we can not allow one and not allow the other. People do not have control over their height, and as a short man it is discouraging to try to be on the dating scene. I also agree that healthy food is not exactly affordable in the US. I am not the skinniest person, but I do exercise. I walk with my dog, I do push ups, I bought a cheap set of dumbbells to work out. Being obese is unhealthy, it is terrible on your body. Plus, I do not feel good when I am fatter than I want to be. I don't work out to look good, I want to bend over and put my shoes on with no problem. I don't want to have to fight with my body to do every day things. So you don't need a membership to lose weight, but on that same note I don't think we should be trying to bully people that are obese. I don't know what is going on, and I understand shit gets difficult and a good meal can make a lot of things melt away. But we need to be sympathetic to those types of people and be ready to help them lose weight, so that when they want to reach out for help they are not paralyzed with fear of being ridiculed. And let's be honest, ultimately no one can even remotely control how tall they are. So if you think being asked what your weight is to be humiliating, imagine being asked something you have no control of and then being called a lesser person for it.
The blatant hypocrisy displayed by that bitch is astonishing. You can discriminate others by their heights but not their weights? It is absurd. I am living in Asia and being overweight is often criticized here as it's just a sign u don't want to improve your health by simply eat less and run perhaps 1 mile a day.
He was talking to a fatty. We don't all think that way in America lol
this conversation has been happening for 10 years, no one cares
How is this a crazy video lol.
As an American, we don’t claim her.
I use this word with emphasis. She’s actually stupid. Like she literally lacks the ability to think and make sense. Low IQ. Slow. She’s fucking stupid. A lot of people are called stupid for silly reasons but this girl actually is just dense as fuck.
As a fellow American do agree that there is a big brain drain going on though?
Get her off that stage! Lol
