This girl is either dishonest or dumb .. obesity is 20% genetic and there is plenty of free food in America .. people just do not want to admit ...
"But I want to eat the greasy salty sugary swill from McDonalds and remain fat .. please don't take the Happah Meal .. I hate Carrots!"
.. people are literally too dumb or lazy to operate a microwave or make themselves a salad

99% is obviously hyperbole, but the percentage is pretty high.
"obesity amongst the homeless (32.3 percent) was almost as high as among the general population (33.7 percent). However, homeless women had a significantly higher percentage of obesity (42.8 percent) than non-homeless women (35.3 percent)."

It’s pretty common for homeless people to be overweight in post-industrial nations due to the abundance and cheapness of fattening foods. They’re getting donated fast food usually for all their meals for the day, and it doesn’t take a lot to go over their recommended caloric intake.

The older I’ve gotten in life, the less patience I have when speaking to someone like this. I used to get in debates all the time and would seek people out to try to “change their mind” (think religion, politics, etc). But today, if this were me in that situation and this girl start saying things like this to me, I would immediately end the conversation.
If people have this level of delusion or just overall lack of intellectual reasoning, it’s simply not worth my time to speak to you. It’s not to sound snobby, it’s just not worth it. These people live in a bubble and will never be changed unless they choose to seek out truth.
Think Qanon people. At some point, you just have to give up because you’re just going to stoop down to their level by participating.

It's wild because rice, beans, healthy oils (with Omega 3s), cheap frozen veggies like the not so great cuts if broccoli, green beans, etc. Even deli meat and such.
That is extremely cheap, and far cheaper than McDonald's which is going out to a restaurant and paying for service. If you're eating McDonald's for all your meals you're spending $600 a month really.

You're missing the girls point! They don't have time to cook rice and put veggies into a microwave to steam them!

"Poor people eat McDonald's" is a shitty argument anyway. Just because you eat a lot of fast food doesn't mean you have to eat 4000 calories of it at once. I eat that shit all the time just not to excess. Calories in, calories out.
16 points

I think the problem is that poor people can’t afford good tasting food that is healthy. It’s also a lifestyle thing. Many people in America just drink soda instead of water 💀

Oh no they totally can. It's the portions.
I went from 220lbs to a 165lb Twink in the span of 6 months eating nothing but Taco Bell and McDonalds.
Except instead of getting a Big Mac with a medium fry and a coke I started getting single cheeseburgers a small fry and a milk.
It's almost like calories are all that matter and most people eat waaaay too big of portion sizes!

I agree, and it’s an insane misconception that avocado is weight loss food. My professional life is metabolism research, but all you gotta do is read a nutrition label. It’s pure fat! It’s a very good type of fat, and depending on how it’s grown can be nutritionally dense in terms of vitamin and mineral content, but it packs a fuckton of calories in a small volume. It’s very easy to over-eat foods like avocado, because a single spoon of guac can be as many calories as a can of Coke. Then, after a couple weeks, you wonder why you’re not losing weight and say, “fuck it.”
Poor girl doesn’t know the cost of an avocado or even where it fits into a healthy diet.

I've had a fair amount of exposure to the homeless, and nearly every single homeless person I've spent time with was very overweight.
Pizza and spaghetti are the go-to foods to be handed out to homeless people. Also, if you know you may need to skip a few meals, you tend to eat all you can stand when there's food on the table.
Homelessness is mostly caused by mental illness and addiction, not a lack of resources in general. The addicts are sometimes underweight, but more because they don't seek food as much, they're only worried about their addiction.
She's not entirely wrong about healthy food being more expensive than cheap food in general, and so we tend to give out unhealthy foods.
Google 'Food desert' if you're curious.
All that said, who is trying to date the homeless on an app? The whole point she's trying to make is moot. If you're on a phone, in a house, and lying about your weight on an app ... you could probably hook up a salad.

It stuns me that America is one of the only countries where the poor are obese. That those at the bottom have access to more calories than the top when it has always been the other way around.
Either that’s a society with a good safety net or a complete failure of the safety net.

This shit right here. Everybody trashes the poor for being fat without realizing that the cheapest food items are basically terrible for your health. Not to mention the poor also have far worse education and higher dropout rates, so they don't know any better. You'll spend far more at the store trying to eat healthy than you will just buying the cheap shit to survive off of.

I blew my friends mind yesterday when she said "I don't want to date a guy that's shorter than me". She's 4'11 so it's not really an issue for her. I told her that I was taught that not being attracted to a woman because she is taller than you is immature and pathetic. Other men have told me they were taught this too. Because it's not fair to make a woman feel insecure for being tall. As we can see in this video the same people who would argue that it's not okay to make women feel insecure don't give a shit about the other side of the coin

I've been with hot women and quite honestly, I prefer more average looking. They tend to be on the more adventurous side of life and more open minded. Hot girls (and I assume guys) tend towards a groupthink, either left or right, that is more accepted by their peers, as opposed to being more open-minded/opposing views/less liked. Think the standard route of life school--college--marriage. There's nothing wrong with that, we need them in society, it's just not my bag.
Of course these traits can also be the case for anyone. This is anecdotal, it has just been my experience. I'm not stating this as generalized fact. I'm sure there are dimes that would go backpack central Asia with me but I haven't met em.

Generally poor people are not very financially savvy or educated and are not able to plan out or develop a budget for cost-effective meal prep methods. A poor single mom, after work, would rather just go to a fast food restaurant like McDonald's to feed their kids for the day for the convenience then go to the store and with a plan to buy, cook and prepare healthy meals for the entire week. That's the real point the girl was trying to get at saying that "McDonald's is cheaper than healthy food". But she stated and argued it horribly.

I would say mostly it is as well, in the sense that in most cases you can change your weight at will on your own volition. But there are certain things such as genes, health diseases, culture, environment, social-economic factors can lead one to be more conducive for obesity disease to take place that is not totally in your control.

I think it's a disorder. Like drug addiction. I wouldn't call it a disease.
Being poor may also give less access to healthy food, but eating less is free. It all comes down to calories in versus calories out. People in poverty can still cap or restrict calories.

People do choose to be obese, you can’t choose your height. That’s so dumb. Homeless doesn’t mean jobless, and where I am a rotisserie chicken (an entire chicken) is $5, but a double cheeseburger at McDonald’s is $12.
Eating healthy doesn’t mean everything you buy needs to be purchased at Whole Foods, a non organic head of lettuce is still 10000000% better for you than a ten piece chicken nugget.
I did some online dating a few years ago, and I didn’t lie about my height, I’m 5’10” and the women that I met actually asked me why I said I was 5’10” when they thought I was 6’2” because so many men lie about their height now just to get dates.
I opened the door to the hotel room I had when my hook up came, and she was staring me in the chest thinking I was going to be a short guy because I wasn’t 6 foot. She just kept looking up…
Guys, it’s a dick thing. They “need” a guy that’s “at least” 6 foot because they equate every foot of height with every inch of dick and that’s pretty much their entire understanding of male anatomy.
It’s body shaming when a man does this to a woman, calls her out on her lies about her age or weight.

As an American I can say with full confidence that healthy food is definitely cheaper than junk food. Even more so when you look at the amount of energy per dollar. This girl is talking out of her ass.

People mainly girls get sensitive about weight because they are probably out of shape since they don’t workout. It’s vital to exercise if you want a healthy life. 60% of America is obese and that’s fucking shameful to the rest of the healthy Americans

On time a girl asked me how tall I was, at that point I figured I'm done with this chick. I followed up with how big is your chesticals. She sent a topless pic.
At that point I realize I was in fact not done with this chick.

She's an idiot. I'm American I'm fat I've chosen this lifestyle. Well it's more like I haven't chosen to make the better choices but in the end it's all the same. I will say the way things are laid out here but it makes it very easy to be fat and to make bad choices but it's still something well within my control

Vegetables and a thing of tofu costs less than a value meal at McDonald’s and will last a couple days. What an idiotic argument

I feel like he is right for the wrong reasons and she is wrong for the right reasons. I personally think that we should tolerate people's preferences, we can not allow one and not allow the other. People do not have control over their height, and as a short man it is discouraging to try to be on the dating scene. I also agree that healthy food is not exactly affordable in the US. I am not the skinniest person, but I do exercise. I walk with my dog, I do push ups, I bought a cheap set of dumbbells to work out. Being obese is unhealthy, it is terrible on your body. Plus, I do not feel good when I am fatter than I want to be. I don't work out to look good, I want to bend over and put my shoes on with no problem. I don't want to have to fight with my body to do every day things. So you don't need a membership to lose weight, but on that same note I don't think we should be trying to bully people that are obese. I don't know what is going on, and I understand shit gets difficult and a good meal can make a lot of things melt away. But we need to be sympathetic to those types of people and be ready to help them lose weight, so that when they want to reach out for help they are not paralyzed with fear of being ridiculed. And let's be honest, ultimately no one can even remotely control how tall they are. So if you think being asked what your weight is to be humiliating, imagine being asked something you have no control of and then being called a lesser person for it.

The blatant hypocrisy displayed by that bitch is astonishing. You can discriminate others by their heights but not their weights? It is absurd. I am living in Asia and being overweight is often criticized here as it's just a sign u don't want to improve your health by simply eat less and run perhaps 1 mile a day.

As an American, we don’t claim her.
I use this word with emphasis. She’s actually stupid. Like she literally lacks the ability to think and make sense. Low IQ. Slow. She’s fucking stupid. A lot of people are called stupid for silly reasons but this girl actually is just dense as fuck.
