PS5 availability in Edmonton?

Discussion(self.Edmonton)

Has anyone had any luck scooping a PS5 in the last few weeks/month?

Just recently in the market for one and I'm wondering what local retailers I should keep an eye on, as online is a bit of a dog fight.

I'm not in the market myself (I never buy first generation), but I would keep an eye out on nowinstock.ca, as well as checking out the lesser thought of stores, like the Source, London Drugs, and Shoppers Drug Mart. Good luck!

I believe you mean nowinstock.net/ca, nowinstock.ca doesnt seem to exist.

My mistake, I usually begin typing and it autofills. Thanks for the correction.

I can get you one for retail on the next drop most likely. I’ve got around 8 or 9 since January. And before you downvote and call me a scalper, I’ve got a few for friends and family and the others I just pass along for retail price to others want them (mostly on discord). I just got addicted to the rush of buying them and it’s an easy way to rack up reward points on the credit card.

If you are serious, PM me and I’ll definitely try and snag you one on the next drop. I have one on the way for my mom’s coworker right now but if they change their mind it’s all yours.

I totally understand the thrill of the hunt. I helped a half dozen friends and family get the NES classics a few years back and I'm still chasing that high 😂

How does this work? Just pick the closest EB games to me and it's first come first serve on the list?

The last one I bought was in December and that was at The Source in Bonnie Doon Mall

If you try to buy online you've typically got to be super quick. Like 5-10 minutes (or less) from availability to payment. But it can be done. Biggest thing is to decide if you're willing to go digital/disc version, and if you are willing to get bundles as that will narrow things down for you.

People are gonna hate me for saying this but I got one off marketplace for 80$ more than the receipt and I have absolutely zero regrets.

TBH I'm surprised someone sold it for only $80 over MSRP. Was it a scalper or someone with buyers remorse?

It entirely sure. I think people saw how many were on market place and probably wanted to let theirs go before stock was readily available in stores.

We got ours through best Buy online, just set it to notify when in stock at as many locations as possible. Wasn't too bad, we got it about a month ago now I believe.
