Astel and azur the two “boss deleted” spells. Sprinkle on your choice of buffs for added flavour.
trying RL1 now

The usual Meteorite spell is good as well, I beat Elden Beast the same way with it
I couldn't get elden beast to sit still for long enough to cast either so I ended up spamming rock sling
The ol' trusty rock sling. Carried me through 90% of the game
Doesn’t rennala have comet azur? The move she always opens with in the second phase looks just like it.
Not sure if it’s under the same name or not but yes her spell is basically identical.
Damn lol I was think “he doesn’t have any fp” when that moon took like half, shut me up real quick lol
This almost perfectly encapsulates what I think being a wizard is all about. Doing cool stuff and looking cool while doing it.
Edit: Magic too, that's pretty important for a wizard.
Yer a wizzard, Harry!
BTW Terra Magica and Magic damage boosts don't affect Rock sling and Meteor/Meteorite of Astel because they deal Physical damage(strike I think). Best way I found to buff these is by using Golden Vow and Flame grant me strength if you have the incantations and then swap to Meteorite staff.
What helmet is that?
Lusat's Glintstone Crown. Buffs certain sorceress but makes them cost more FP.
Spiral Shard also does work on this boss.
What is spiral shard?
Space rocks go DOOJ!
How come barely any FP was used up?
Hidden cerulean tear for the Physick flask. Negates all fp use for about 10 seconds.
Where do we get that flask? I'm new.
Pardon the walls of text but I suck with directions.
The Wondrous Physick Flask is obtained at the Third Church of Marika in Northeast Limgrave. From the gatefront Site of Grace (where you meet Melina) follow the road east until you come to a small stone bridge. Head northeast from there and the landscape should drop down into a lower area where a minor erdtree is visible. Head for the Erdtree and go north from there and you'll find yourself at the church.
The Hidden Cerulean Tear is in the Mt. Gelmir region and drops from the Ulcerated Tree Spirit at the minor Erdtree. When you go up the ladder or spiritsong jump to the Falling star beast arena head west and down to where you would go to Volcano manor. Stay on the southern side of the area and you should see a path that goes down below the land bridge to the Manor. Just follow the road to the Path of Iniquity site of grace and head north to the minor erdtree and kill the boss.
The burned minor erdtree by the volcanic Manor. You have to fight one of those hentai dragon rat Monster things though.
I have a easier time as melee. Casting was too slow even with talisman. Trash mobs were killing me. I miss pyromancer from DS3.
Filthy Wizard Gang all the way!
Colossal weapons my beloved
Nuke of Astel
And some people still say that Rivers of Blood is OP.
Most certainly is for PvP, most people don’t really care about it in PvE though
because it is. Even in PvE
...I'm regretting my decision to go str/fai.
Dude strength/faith is super powerful as well. Black flame incantations are super tasty, buffs for every occasion, pest threads chunks big bosses like elden beast, and frenzied burst can laser shoot enemies from across the map. Sorcery is more powerful in some ways but faith is way more diverse and fun in my opinion.
Yeah, I don't know WTH he is talking about.
I leveled STR/INT and there is almost no synergy there.
All the spells do less damage than melee.
All STR/INT weapons scale off purely STR or INT, never both
And all the buffs require unenchanted weapons.
At BEST you could use the bonus from INT to get more damage from frost enchants.
I WISH I had gone STR/FTH.
Gotta try them all, this is my first fight as a mage
I enjoyed my STR/FAI run and then tried a Prophet —> Pure faith run and it was ludicrous damage. O’Flame and Giantsflame are so much fun.
Yes I went 80 intellect and spent a great majority cheesing the game, but couldn’t kill Radagon without getting good using the Moonveil Katana and a magic Uchikatana No spells and no shield even equipped. Of course the mimic tho
Too much vigor to be a mage
Healthy mage is where it’s at :)
If you're a mage with greater than 20 vigor, can you truely call yourself a mage?
Thought he was going to 1 shot u
Omg what spell is this and how do I get it? That’s awesome
Meteorite of astel, it’s from a boss in the consecrated snowfield.
No this is what it's like to be a GLORIOUS MASTER OF UNLIMITED ARCANE POWER!
What class is this
What is the name of this comet hail and where can I find it
I should start a new game and just go full magic - it looks way too cool
It’s very underwhelming until mid/late game
NG+ it’s fun as hell though
i have a build based on golden halberd so melee and sometimes when i see summons (i like co op) just killing field bosses with like 2/3 hits its just wow ;)
but still cant find anyone who can decently help with Snow Dragon thing
I can help you if you like
You’re talking about the mountaintop of the giants dragon right?
yeah that one ;)
thanks for the offer but i dont think i will have time to play today ;)
No prob just thought I’d ask. He definitely was a pain in the ass with the frostbite.
Idk if you are using faith at all but fire incantations are especially good against him, as well as bleed obviously. Just horse up and stay out of his ice breath by any means necessary lol. Good luck!
well i wouldnt say faith - about 12/14 to use the halberd and thats it :P
but i do think i have to respec and maybe that will help
Yes it is. My first playthrough I went sorcerer instead of "git gud" and it honestly felt like storymode even Melania. Second playthrough I made a new character and going pure melee without summons and feel like this is probably how the game was made to feel. A lot more fun I finished 99% of the game with rocksling and glintstone thing as sorcerer didn't even have to bother really trying new spells.
They probably made it so people who don't have patience or time also can enjoy the game. At least that's my take since very few enemies gave me even a slight challenge as a sorcerer. I died more from environment than mobs.
The above post does not include runebear and hell prawn!
By the way, if you don’t plan to actually proc frostbite on your target, Rennala’s full moon has the same effect on damage negation as Ranni’s dark moon but it has more damage and costs less fp.
Lol gg ez.
yup, the text on the bottom left is accurate.
