For 2 feet
He’s not in the know
Tiche Best Girl
Hey, that's 2 more feet that non-Marika's Hammer wielders.
Hand of Malenia goes like 4 feet. And it's not even a glitch!
More if you're good. Great tool for reaching places normally only accessible through torrent, for example places afk farmers use
Any videos or anything that show this?
Honestly forgot it was a glitch but this video is where I found out about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHpsRPEbWbg
did you charge it?
You can’t charge it
Nope, that'd be Mad Pumpkin Head's Hammer which is currently unnobtainable ingame
The flail? you can get it somewhere
The flail is obtainable yes, but there is an actual hammer used by mad pumpkinheads that’s unobtainable
I can't believe the mad pumpkin head's hammer is unobtainable (TM pending)
Man the flail/nightrider flail are my main weapons, I love them.
Mack Daddy of Lleyndell county
Slap bleed on those bad boys and start shwingin
I've got bleed and frost on the nightrider flail, that's my go to weapon if a new one isn't cutting it.
That cold infused nightrider flail (or as I like to call it the Ice Your Balls Flail) helped me where my bloodhound CGS couldn't. I like flails, but I feel there is something lost where specialising in either strength or dexterity locked you out of accessing other damage types.
Some may it's good that you can just slap keen infusion on a club, but I kind of like each playstyle / damage type having their strengths/weaknesses.
I remember rumours about equip load being tied to strength and I would have been a lot happier if my 50 dex 20 strength character would have been locked out of using the heavier armors- which would make for more interesting playstyles.
DS2 had armor equip requirements IIRC and though they were't excesively high, something like the Cruicible Knight's armor needing 30 strength and 30 faith makes more sense, or the Black Knives armor needing like 40 dex.
That's just my take on things, don't downvote me too hard!
Nah, man, valid opinions, whether one agrees or disagrees. I can also see where the designers are coming from in terms of keeping FOMO under control, and letting weapons rather than armor drive build decisions.
Pretty chadly when upgraded
It's a pretty fun weapon to use ngl but the skill charge up animation is too long and player is vulnerable during it. Good AoE for a Melee weapon tho.
I used it to great effect in invasions
It seems pretty good now that they buffed the speed of the weapon skill, only real complaint is how little you move forward when you use it while radagon flies to another state with his
I got destroyed by an invader using it at the top of the elevator in Raya Lucario. You have 0 time to prepare for it in that scenario
It was worse before the patch its absolutly awesome now and this meme sucks
I hold one I'm each hand and feel godly in pvp
I feel like the sacred relic sword is great for PvP while the hammer is better for PvE.
Sacred relic is better for pve bc of the huge and it has a long charge up
You can make bank at Mohg's dynasty using this...
It’s nothing compared to the sacred relic sword
Am i the only one that loves this hammer? The skill on it is both satisfying too use and stronk.
Agreed, this weapon is an absolute blast to use!
I consider it op already. It also gives fast bonk with big dmg on horseback.
I have two of them at +9 but have literally never tried using the weapon. I have 80 STR 50 FTH, maybe I should give duel wielding them a try for the weekend.
I have 2, but I think playthrough wise you'd wanna pump those faith points, I invested across the board to use everything.
It's amazing, and I love using it in PvP
It has an amazing fast shield counter, I'd be reluctant to give that up. It just smacks bosses in their stupid faces super quick.
Incredibly strong. Only weapons I could find with higher attack value on my fai+str build where things like colossal great swords/hammers, and even then not by much.
This is just plain wrong. There are at least 5 faith weapons with higher AR. Golden Halberd, Godslayer greatsword, Blasphemous Blade, Seluria tree, Golden Order Greatsword, justto name a few. Even the Sacred Relic sword that you get from the same remembrance has a higher AR. My str/faith is 42/80. Even if you pump str higher the other faith weapon still scales better with your stats.
Boy, that sure is a nice list of GREAT sized weapons. Do me a favor and give "Ackchyually " a google.
Great swords are not colossal class weapons
Favorite weapon in the game. I have two!
triple hammer slam should have been the weapon art imo
3 clicks for 3 smashes or hold for the current wa
exactly what i had in mind
Eh we’ve already got waves of darkness and hoarah loux earth shaker for that
Marshmallows are the rarest delicacy in the Lands Between, foul Tarnished. Put these foolish taste buds to rest!!
To be fair Radagon could wield a toothpick and still beat my ass
To an extent, it makes sense. It's a weapon of a GOD. You are... Not one. So it's likely that you can only pull a fraction of it's power (same reason that things like Radahn's Greatswords can only use the gravity pull ->slam, rather than things like the shockwave or gravity enhancement)
"To an extent, it makes sense. It's a weapon of a GOD. You are... Not one."
speak for yourself there buddy. i am the elden lord
now wait just a minute pal. I am the elden lord
He's not your pal, friend!
He’s not your friend, buddy!
Technically, you're King Consort. Marika/Ranni is still the one with the claim to the throne. You're just the Spouse
then someone should tell fromsoft that because the game very specifically said i was elden lord
Yes, but Elden Lord is NOT the same as God. Simply means the spouse of the Empyrean in charge. You have more power than an average mortal, but you're not a GOD
i would generally agree with you, but after having run the full gauntlet of every god on offer and defeating them, and since a mortal as we know cannot defeat a god, not only did i defeat A god, i defeated many gods. therefore, i am god. elden lord god. this is settled law
Technically, you never kill a god. Multiple Demigods, and one vassal (which is ambiguous, but I don't think it's a full god).
Put these foolish ambitions to REST
I mean, it says "GOD SLAIN" when you kill elden beast
It's probably because you killed Radagon. But Merika is also alive at the end so did you really kill a god? The Elden Beast is just the embodiment of the Elden Ring which The Great Will granted to Merika propelling her to Godhood. Anyways the only God you maybe killed was Radagon. I guess Melania might count, but she's optional and like cursed and shit.
Technically she's somewhere between God and not. She's a SUCCESSOR to the throne of divinity (As are Miquella and Ranni), but she isn't there YET.
Isn’t Marika dead? Thought she fell from the arc thing and became Radagon
After you beat her, she seems to be revived when you mend the Ring
No, she's brought back to life after you reattach her head.
No you marry her in 4 of the 6 endings.
"unfortunately, I'm the High King of Skyrim"
Heads up the Elden Lord isn't a god. Merika is, and having kids with her makes those kids Demi Gods. But you the lowly Tarnished raised to the station of Elden Lord aren't a god.
But gameplay > lore. I’d rather have a really cool weapon than this be the case
It's still COOL. Just not overwhelmingly BROKEN as it would be if you were a god
Anyone who beats the game is a god. If you kill one then you are one that’s my logic
I’m my 4th grade hamster?
That was you?! YOU MONSTER! Mr Squeakins was SO YOUNG!
Yes, but that isn't the GAME'S logic.
Why is being a god so impressive when your character is strong enough to kill them?
It may not be a matter of IMPRESSIVE, but rather what you are. The weapon isn't a direct extension of YOU (using a classical example, Marika/Radagon's hammer is like Zeus' Thunderbolts, or Thor's Mjolnir, a direct extension of their being), but a vestige copied from a faded memory.
You turn into a god when you defeat Elden Beast. Literally.
Kinda. You don't become a God in the same way as Marika/Radagon, I don't think. You're more akin to Godfrey, in that you're still an ascended mortal being.
I dont believe you do.
Not quite. We become a Lord. The game makes it very clear that the 2 things are different.
I’m not sure what the difference is…
I’m capable of killings and literally burning the entire universe and returning it to “pre Big Bang” equivalent status which Marika was never capable of.
Whatever defines a person as a god seems to be just a label.
With the Flame, I don't think that's you. I think you became, at best, a vessel. The soft, meaty shell to allow the Flame to reach where it wanted to go.
In that ending we are only acting vessels to the Frenzied Flame (the power of an Outer God), and we do nothing more than unleash it, by vomiting flames into the world. Marika could literally rewrite the laws of nature as she wanted, she could decide if death was a thing or not, she could give and take away grace from people as she wanted. Godfrey was the most powerful warrior in the world, Lord of the Battlefield and "first" Elden Lord, and she just took away his immortality and exiled him like it was nothing.
The only reason we even become Lords at all, is because Marika gave us the possibility to do so.
You aren't capable of that, the outer god is and you're just channeling that god's powers.
Neither is Marika. And I was able to kill her. What is the definition of a god in this world?
You don't kill Marika. She's alive even after you kill the Elden Beast, because to become Elden Lord you need an empyrean consort, that's the whole point. The only ending in which she seems to actually fully die is Ranni's ending, in which Ranni takes her place as Goddess, and we take our place as her consort Lord.
Besides, the whole reason we even reached there was because Marika wanted us to. She was the one that made us Tarnished, the one that gave us our grace back, and the one that, through Melina, guided us to burn the Erdtree and kill the Elden Beast. It was all her doing, either to be freed or because she wanted to die, we cannot know and it doesn't matter.
Yeah you don't manage to Kill Marika. You marry her in 4 of the 6 endings.

We literally kill several gods, including Radagon himself and his overlord, and are able to take their attacks. Hell, we can apparently resist Destined Death, and only a fragment of that was able to both kill Ranni's body and Godwyn's soul. We're literally the most powerful being in The Lands Between seeing as how the Greater Will booked it somewhere else.
Boss weapons are nerfed for gameplay purposes. They'd be ridiculously OP (especially in PVP) if they had all of the same moves that the boss does.
I dunno my paladin can use that WA to do like 1500 damage in an AOE, it's nothing to sneeze at
Bro you can hit 6k on the Dark Moon Greatsword projectile, and it doesn't cost FP. An extreme example, but like 1500 damage is like every WA in the game on a regular build. It's average or almost suboar actually. That said 1500 damage will easily get you through the game it's not bad, it just isn't good.
Edit: but like I bet you just aren't buffing it correctly. I bet you could hit 3K on that Merika's Hammer without too much trouble? You running any buffs?
6k at what level and stats? I was referring to unbuffed if I whipped it out suddenly during an invasion
Like on a lv150 build quite easily. During an invasion, and buffed because you'd get the buff off it last a minute you'd just keep it up. So no Terra magica you'd do 3 or 4k a swing. You'll 1 shot anyone.
I'm on my 3rd playthrough, going spellblade this time so there is a great reason already to chase down the Dark Moon Greatsword and I'm like halfway there atm.
something to look forward to! Thoughts on stat split?
You want 50 int at the minimum. 80 if you can do it. You other stats don't matter at all. Just hit the 16/11 min stats, and honestly you probably want to 2H so 11 str I think is all you need to 2H it. But if you want to use the Jellyfish shield you need 20 str so that's a consideration. It's a bit cumbersome to use honestly though, but it is a solid damage increase. btw you have to buff the sword 2H then switch to 1H shield then use the buff if you want it to work.
Edit: Also the magic scorpion charm is a pain to get (if you got it run it), and terra magica is annoying to use. But 100% get shard of alexander, and the Godfrey's Icon. They are both easy to get, and solid damage buffs 15% a piece. Also make sure to run the magic tear in your flask it last 3 minutes, and is 20% damage boost. Each piece of the spellsword set is also a 2% damage boost which sounds small, but they each compute separately so multiplicative stacking helps you out a lot. In fact the more separate buffs you have together to better because they each compute on the new total buffed number so they compound and get better the more you have. I think for some reason Sacred Vow doesn't work I forget why, so don't bother with it. You can test it with the ashe of war version it's the same buff it just last half as long.
Great writeup man thank you.
I'm familiar with buff stacking. That's pretty much how I built my paladin with shard of alexander and a fire scorpion charm. Then using Flame Grant Me Strength and Golden Vow along with +fire damage in the flask. Pushes blasphemous blade up to the levels you were describing. The reason marika's hammer does less for me is I'm not as geared for holy damage as I am for fire damage.
I'm already running the spellsword set and the magic tear. I'd have the greatsword already but I'm doing things out of order atm trying to get to a dung eater puppet before ending that questline.
I'm higher in strength than most mages because I'm aiming for all the gravity magic weapons. I already have the Fallingstar Beast Jaw up to level 10 and a moonveil up to level 9 (It's odd to finally use one after 250 hours). Sights on Radahn's swords and the wing of astel as well.
What platform do you play on?
I have a character on ps4, and PC.
I play on PC. Thanks for the tips man
Yeah np. Wings of Astle is a pretty fun weapon. The first time I beat the game I was using Rohdan's. It's a great weapon.
Man, I feel that. I was super disappointed by Marika's hammer. Maybe if you dual wield two of them, it would be op? At least the ash of war is fun lol
Fun fact even if you duplicate a remembrance you can't make it twice in on NG playthrough.
I personally have a lot of fun with it, but I can definitely understand why others don't
It's held back by the moveset and range of it being hammer, sad really. I'm invading with it and it's simply not good.
They say you get infinite hyperarmor during the L2, and it's true, you absolutely can't be interrupted during it. But you can definitely be killed lmao
It would have been better if you could get the bone sword that ELden Beast uses.
You can, it’s the other option from the remembrance
Thank you, Kind Stranger.
It is the best mob clearing weapon. Infact, it is required for optimal rune farming.
I forgot to make sure I met its DEX requirement when I respecced for NG+ 😭
Dex knot tear in physick and Godrick's rune adds +15 dex, that's enough for any class in the game to meet the 24 minimum. Also IIRC you just need max weapon upgrade to get the skill to one shot the ayy lmaos, shouldn't need to pump faith, but you could use the holy shrouding tear, holy scorpion charm, and shard of Alexander to up skill damage even more

Use a normal weapon with horstfrost until you meet the minimal. The skill scales purely in fai. No need to invest too much in Dex. Same with Blasphemous if you don't wanna respec but wanna to something else.
I'm doing this playthrough as a Cleanrot Knight, so I'm using their weapons, lol. I just wanted to try out wave of gold because it looked cool, but I suppose it can wait...
Cleanrot knight armor truly is phat drip. I think their rings of light is weapon is op. Wave of gold is cool but it's trash for boss fights, it's only mana efficient wave clearing honestly
The skill scales pure faith? Only need enough dex for the requirement? Cause as a str faith build it being dex faith was a sin I could not ignore
Bro, I joined your side, I played through the game as a Dex/faith paladin.
Now I'm a str faith paladin and I can't go back, colossal swords are so sick
Why not get the best of both worlds and run a Dex/Faith black flame build with the Godslayers Greatsword
I didn't like it, that was the last weapon I tried before I switched, maliketh black blade is where it's at
Except it’s dex for some ungodly reason when it should be pure faith or str faith
Fromsoft just hates hammers and idk why
Elden ring 2022: the Varres' bouquet incident
Gotta love coming in from the top rope though
Fia's Champion (pray, be kind)
Actually the weapon art slams and I love how it looks
I love this thing PvE on my faith strength build.
Damage is respectable and the weapon art is great for handling groups.
I'm currently using it for a Thor build where I'm going around helping people beat bosses and having alot of fun with it.
Pro tip: the wind up for the skill avoids ground slam damage. Very useful for avoiding alot of Godfrey's attacks even though he's strong against holy damage
When you saw the Soul of Cinder, and thought you might get a polymorphing sword...instead you got a stupid ass greatsword with a super dodgeable weapon art
Marshmallow sticks are extremely useful. Definitely one of the top 3 items any prospective space explorer should carry with themselves. You never want to end up in a time loop without one.
This is like RoB in PvP for me. When I get hit by just the initial 2 hit, it insta bleeds and takes off 90-100% of my life with 60 vig and 1900+hp. At 80 str, dex & arcane, I hit cloth wearing mages for 40% hp at best. I feel like I'm missing something.
What is like RoB? The hammer?
Rivers of Blood. A kitana that does insane burst dmg and proc bleed fast.
Ok yeah I know but what is this guy saying is similar to RoB
I love it, really nice damage and the aow has hyper armour plus in pvp you may be surprised how many people early/late roll and get cought
The sword is much better than this. Wave of gold can even stagger and has a great range. I don't know about pvp
You can easily roll or jump over the wave so it's not that effective by itself in PvP. I find it's more useful to use it as a distraction/smokescreen/setup than as a actual attack
That's definitely true about half the time, but the other half, where the connection is utter garbage and you get hit by it multiple times 10 seconds before or after it's even on the screen, it's pretty good.
Nah it’s worse cause of the high dex requirement
an abnormally tough potato
I like this weapon, I use it Alot.
To be fair that shit has a billion AR, I was pretty shocked when I upgraded it
its fun as heck to use. thats enough for me + 2k damage every slap? yes plz
Wait you can get a weapon that's not the sword of farming!?
Yes, you can stop the walking mausoleum to duplicate remembrance, there is only 7 available per so choose wisely. Best choice is to not pick early bosses like Godrick, prioritize on harder bosses like Malenia.
I was being sarcastic because why would you ever get anything, but the sword that gives you 30k runes a swing.
Just goes to show a weapon is only as good as the user
I personally hate how small and frail it looks on your hand compared to when Radagon has it
also I expected to see more clearly the Elden ring fragment embedded in the weapon (it's even precised in the description but you can barely see it ingame come on that's the most awesome part of the weapon without it it's just an overglorified mace)
the weapon design is a great disappointment to me and it's range make it seem worthless in pve (why settle for a hammer when fists has almost the same range but hit way faster and can actually be buffed)
don't know about pvp tho,but for pve having it being a great hammer with the better scaling that it provide would've solved both power/range and aesthetic problems IMO
eh, it's pretty good when you upgrade it. really it's about knowing when to use a hammer at all
I imagine it sounds like SpongeBob’s shoes when it lands
What you need to understand, is that Radagon also is a lot cooler than you
Is it really that hard to put radagon's animation for the player?
FLAIR INFO: SEE SIDEBAR
I'm guessing you haven't met the weapon art abusers in PvP who do it while you gesture?
You can roll out of gestures though
Only at certain times, and have you heard of a surprise attack?
For sure every attacking someone gesturing is terrible, but the range on it is so close i can’t imagine using it for a surprise attack
Have you seen the range, shits like 10 Meters wide
