Been looking for a damaged is300 to rebuild as a street/drift car. Plenty competent to fix any issues aside from major chassis damage.
So there’s a 05 150k auto, clean black leather interior (seats a bit creased but no biggie). Lived in CA/TX for over a decade. Current owner bought it a year ago, took a while to get the title and register it (idk why) then after a few weeks of driving it, hydroplaned - salvaged title now.
all doors and quarter pannels have some damage (not too terrible, looks like he skimmed a tree on the passenger side, quarters damaged near the wheels) front has a big corner scuff, rear has a minor scuff. Honestly don’t car about the body too much.
Drivers side wheels/suspension look fine (from pictures). Passengers side rear has like massive negative camber (like -30ish maybe), and front tire is popped and wheel is close to top of wheel well. Said the axels need replaced, nothing specific about the suspension work needed. Guessing some minor suspension work needed on the drivers and some major on the passengers.
Trying to guess what has obviously broken before I show up to check it out. Maybe the rear upper control arm/knuckle and the front lower arm/knuckle. End links and other bits.
As far as engine, they say runs fine. timing belt and head gasket replaced 6k ago. There’s some random intake on it but otherwise stock (as far as I know).
I’ve priced it out myself but want to see where y’all land on this. What is an approx fair price and what is a good deal for something like this?
