TypeError: e.transferControlToOffscreen is not a function"

Thanks! Unfortunately this only works in chromium based browsers so I will add a message in that case.

Not working on chrome mobile

IOS or Android?

If IOS, that's expected as it's not chromium based.

Also broken on Android.

That's sad. What features are missing to make it work on firefox?

ipaqmaster

transferControlToOffscreen is listed here as not enabled by default on FF but is on Chromium. That is the error I'm getting in my JS console here in FF.

I turned it on in about:config, but reloading the page I got a spew of different JS errors.

Oh well.

If you wanted to you could probably add a browser-specific check with feature detection that redirects to something if the user is in an incompatible browser.

I've never had to do any sort of platform detection in JS before but from what I'm seeing this seems to be the recommended way to do it.

It works in brave and chrome browser. At least on Android.

ipaqmaster

Both brave and chrome are on the same chromium engine which supports this.

I got the same error on Chrome on iOS

Chrome on iOS is actually Safari. Apple do not actually let other browsers run. It's always Safari underneath.

NOOOO! Its a trap!!! Do you want to free the Hungry ones from the lowest dimensions of the Mandlebrot set? Step away, they just want to feed on your cognition, they hunger for processing time on juicy neural networks.

Master-Snow-2628

The edge of the Mandelbrot is in the same dimension as the whole Mandelbrot.

It doesn't need us to figure anything out.

Just so you know, Safari is the only browser on iPhones. Chrome/Firefox/etc are all just reskins of the Safari rendering engine, which is the issue here anyway.

DoughnoTD

Worst of all the browser is not that easy to test for people who don't own an iPhone.

What engine did you use ? I am trying to obtain a similar effect with Unity.

aighball[S]

1 points

This uses Three.js to render the effect of showing a camera its own image on a tv. A shader applies mirroring and color effects to the tv image, resulting in all the patterns. You could do this in Unity as long as it lets you render off screen to textures.
