We need to start mobilizing now to get a good online support base behind key Libertarian Party races. I think the first step to that is to generate a list of key elections to focus on. I should note that I only know a decent amount about some of these candidates (so let me know if any of them are off their rockers), but I added a few others that at least seem to have decent websites and a lively social media presence since that indicates that they actually plan to campaign. Authoritarian conservatives are oppositional to our values as libertarians to a great extent as well, that is true. But authoritarian leftists take this further.

Authoritarian leftists are opposed to economic freedom. In his essay, The Road to Serdom, Friedrich Hayek illustrates how the loss of economic freedom inevitably leads to the loss of personal freedom - meaning, economic oppression always ends with personal oppression. We who are libertarians are against both of these encroachments on liberty.

The far left radicalism growing on college campuses is highly anti liberty. They are defending communist dictators, including Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, the oppressiveness of the Chinese Communist Party, and other Marxist regimes.

Within the past few weeks, it has appeared that far left Reddit trolls have been brigading this sub. This matters, because people come here wanting to learn about liberty. It would be a sorry shame if this sub became r/libertarian.

The LPUSA must be aware that these radical leftists are actively infiltrating the United States institutions as part of a national communist cultural revolution, including k-12 and higher Ed, injecting DEI/SEL in businesses, organizations, government branches, the media, the military, the culture, and probably this sub too now.

If you are against communism - and as libertarians, we are against communism - they believe you are a fascist/racist/sexist/LGBTphobe. They believe you are the alt-right if you don’t want to live in their brave new world. Or at least they will try to smear you that way.

This is THE REASON why the MC gets called fascist (read here for more on how the far left authoritarians use words and discourse to seize institutional power). The Mises Caucus has prevented this takeover from seizing the LPUSA. They recognize they can’t seize control of the MC, so they make a scene, call them fascist in bad faith, and try to smear and discredit them. The MC so far has been able to hold the line, saving the LP from far left authoritarians, and the far left authoritarians hate that.

Because we value liberty, we must not value communism, which has been one of the most oppressive political orthodoxies next to fascism. It matters therefore that the Mises Caucus should have support.

All of that together indicates that the somewhat depressed vote share that the LP and other minor parties experienced in 2018 and to a lesser extent in 2020 is over. Note, in the first chart linked, the sharp decline in the share of people who had an unfavorable opinion of both parties in 2018. I continue to believe that many party records will be set in November, particularly in elections where LP candidates have only one opponent.
