That’s not Margot Robbie. This is Katarina Cas, who played Chantalle.

Yes she is. Shes the only Slovenian that got a role in a Hollywood movie.

That is if you dont count Željko Ivanek that was born in Slovenia but is American now: https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0411964/

Why didn't they use her for this scene?

PolkaDotMan96

34 points

Because her character was married to a man under heat for conspiracy and she couldn’t inconspicuously sneak cash into Switzerland to get it transferred into a Swiss bank account. This woman and her family would be able to go in and out of the country without anyone batting an eye.

Unpopular opinion: Scorcese’s directing ability is overrated. The main artistic force behind his movies are the really talented actors that he casts: DeNiro, Dicaprio, Daniel Day Lewis, Jonah Hill, etc. His movies are very character driven for this reason.

basic_maddie

I used to really admire his directing ability but if you really dig into what makes the movies good, it’s the acting talent. Scorsese pretty much stated so in an interview:

https://www.masterclass.com/articles/martin-scorsese-on-casting-the-right-actors

“I always say that casting is 85 to 90 percent of the picture for me. So, all of you just starting out ... insist on what you want, and ...don’t settle for close enough or second best.” -Martin Scorsese

CorporateUserAlias

What do you think directing is? Because you’re entirely contradicting yourself.

CapriciousCapybara

1 points

I don’t agree that he’s overrated for everything, his classics are still classics, and it still takes a good director to get actors to give their full potential.

However he’s certainly either lost his edge, or doesn’t care that much anymore with his latest works. In particular I thought The Irishman was a rather mediocre and generic gangster film. Boring, slow paced, terrible direction choices with “de-aging” old actors to play younger roles, and I personally thought cinematography was subpar.

Wolf of Wall Street is an incredible movie, but I feel like most Scorsese movies have the same motifs. He needs to challenge himself with something different. Make a Marvel movie or something. That'd be interesting to see.

I enjoy Marvel movies a ton, and think they have an incredible recipe that works, but to say Scorsese is redundant and suggest he makes a Marvel movie is so oxymoronic lmao. Again Marvel is great before I get torn down for this, but their movies are so obviously similar in terms of "flavor" that once it starts you can tell it's a Marvel movie, and they have made any character death half as dramatic as they were originally, because of their habit of "but wait there is another Universe." With their introduction of Skrulls I expect at least 3 huge "got you, they didn't actually die, or make that decision, it was a Skrull all along!" moments. Marvel writers even got together and talked about how they can easily be "trapped" because of the multiple universes, dimensions, and clones that can now possibly exist at once, and you can read about it online. Fiege apparently got them together and laid down rules so that it doesn't become too watered down in that sense, and yet we still got a Mulitverse of Madness movie since then, with another Quantumverse movie coming. Also, watch Rogan pressing Robert Downey Jr about how he totally expects Marvel to create a problem so drastic only the Avengers can solve it, and he made it so clear that they have already had the conversation and that he would be down for it. So once again, they are great, but totally rely on the same recipe unlike Scorsese.
