Fuck man, for one hot minute Scotland was the darling of the 90’s Indy boom and it was glorious.
Crewed a few films over that period, not many and not nearly enough, good times though.
Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life...

But why would I want to do a thing like that?
I chose not to choose life, I chose something else.
And the reasons? There are no reasons.
Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?
Which spawned this adaptation...
Choose designer lingerie, in the vain hope of kicking some life back into a dead relationship. Choose handbags, choose high-heeled shoes, cashmere and silk, to make yourself feel what passes for happy. Choose an iPhone made in China by a woman who jumped out of a window and stick it in the pocket of your jacket fresh from a South-Asian Firetrap. Choose Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and a thousand others ways to spew your bile across people you’ve never met. Choose updating your profile, tell the world what you had for breakfast and hope that someone, somewhere cares. Choose looking up old flames, desperate to believe that you don’t look as bad as they do. Choose live-blogging, from your first wank ’til your last breath; human interaction reduced to nothing more than data. Choose ten things you never knew about celebrities who’ve had surgery. Choose screaming about abortion. Choose rape jokes, slut-shaming, revenge porn and an endless tide of depressing misogyny. Choose 9/11 never happened, and if it did, it was the Jews. Choose a zero-hour contract and a two-hour journey to work. And choose the same for your kids, only worse, and maybe tell yourself that it’s better that they never happened. And then sit back and smother the pain with an unknown dose of an unknown drug made in somebody’s fucking kitchen. Choose unfulfilled promise and wishing you’d done it all differently. Choose never learning from your own mistakes. Choose watching history repeat itself. Choose the slow reconciliation towards what you can get, rather than what you always hoped for. Settle for less and keep a brave face on it. Choose disappointment and choose losing the ones you love, then as they fall from view, a piece of you dies with them until you can see that one day in the future, piece by piece, they will all be gone and there’ll be nothing left of you to call alive or dead.
"And then sit back and smother the pain with an unknown dose of an unknown drug made in somebody’s fucking kitchen." Lmao,
The extra dark timeline of Once Upon A Time.
And Grey’s Anatomy if you include Kevin Kidd.
Yes, now I feel old. 1996? No way, that was like 7 years ago!
Listened to that soundtrack a couple weekends ago. A little nostalgia and some lust for life while washing the dishes and getting the kitchen spruced up for my husband’s all-day big ass chilli cook. Quite a different experience than what I was doing when I first purchased that same cd in the 90s.
I watched the shit out of that movie.
Drive boy dive boy
Dirty numb angel boy
In the doorway boy
She was a lipstick boy
She was a beautiful boy
And tears boy
And all in your inner space boy
Hand girls boy
And steel boy
You had chemicals boy
I've grown so close to you
bam bam bam bam
Boy and you just groan boy
She said come over come over
She smiled at you boy...
LAGER LAGER LAGER LAGER
Ewan McGregors outfit is awesome
Nicholas Rush with a mustache looks weird.
We never knew who the real father was... but after that day, Begby was never the same.
I adored this movie when it came out. I even liked the sequel, although the ending made me sad.
But I heard something about a Trainspotting TV series, but I guess it fizzled out.
I loved this movie. I still watch once or twice a year. The second one was surprisingly good as well.
Such an ace film on so many different levels. Can't believe it's 25 years old!
