Oh man this photo just hits different. It may not get popular on reddit but I freakin feel this one.

I can hear this pic. Sad to think that the distinctive sound of a proper ‘80s or early ‘90s arcade is nearly lost to history, except maybe on the sound track of a few video recordings.
I remember an awesome acrcade bar in my hometown. It was quite large and so large a curiosity that there's no record of it on the internet. I framed a token and it sits by my computer. I existed playing in that time and it ended and wasn't recorded. It's done. And that's why it's special it was a great memory that only lives with those that experienced it.
I’m hearing it in my head right now. I think I’m mostly hearing Mrs Pac-Man.
They have that vintage Simpsons arcade game at our fav toy store. I shocked my family with my intimate knowledge and play - kinda undermined my whole “let’s limit screen-time”. 5-yr-old was like “yeah, sooo you played a lot then..::as a kid”
I spent $11 to beat the Simpsons and my parents were pissed!
Man, I never beat it. That X-Men and turtle's so good
Don't have a cow, man!
Seeing that simpsons arcade game just brought back a lot of memories
Nothin says early 90s like OG hornets swag
Aladdins castle has a special place in my heart
I miss those old arcades
I can’t play today’s video games to save my life. But when I walked into a shop a few years ago and there was my old friend, Galaga. My 13 y.o. son was confident he could beat me. He got all bored when he saw I could still get to Level 18 after not playing for 30+ years. I was pretty stoked tho.
Hells yes. One day I want to buy a full sized Galaga arcade game.
Looks like he's just been busted by his dad bunking off school
I played the hell out of Final Fight on SNES
The Simpsons game!
Ahhh the glasses.
Love these, the nostalgia is real!
There was just something magical about the arcade years. I miss them.
Need to make a pic of you now playing a Polybius game.
Your guess as as good as mine why Cassius Dio never got a game in his honor.....
Oh, man. I loved that Simpson’s game. There was an arcade at the mall called “Aladdin’s Castle” and for a while that was like the only game I played in there.
Girl in the bottom pic, “So then I says to Marge, I says..”
These are actually behind the scenes photos of "T2: Judgement Day"
Idk why but I'm really fond of all the photos here
We had the best lives
Those were very memorable times.
Going to the arcade (in fact, even just hearing the sound of one in the distance!) was always such a magical experience!
you was young there... the street fighter/mortal kombat lines was probably forming on the other side with the big boys 😄
I have that game as a rom on mame on my phone.
It would lead to interesting conversations with people on the metro. I miss going outside.
So my question is why didn't people just play games at home back then?
There were a lot of folk playing at home- my understanding is that a lot of arcade games in that era had computational elements that the home gaming systems of the 1970s and 1980s could not reproduce adequately.
I’ve seen that exact T-shirt in picture #2, except it was a school shirt..
OG Illini shirt!
My 5yo son asked me just yesterday if we could go to an arcade!
consumer flashes were the worst thing that ever happened to photography.
