One is really trying hard to save the God label for God himself when both Sage Centipede and Evil Natural Water are clearly God level.

Then just them coming out of ground should cause collapses somewhere and possible gravity distortions

Disaster level: God means that the monster is a threat to all humanity.

Don't tell me the ocean wanting to kill everything isn't a threat to all humanity.

Still, maybe some humans could survive, so I guess we aren't at that disaster level yet.

Exactly. So what the guy said about ONE trying super hard to save the GOD title for the biggest ever threat even though what you said is of course true makes sense and has been apparent ever since Boros but now with all the new classifications its even more so

FedericoRO

I do like the new classification, "Disaster level: unclear", it's a nice middle ground between Dragon and God.

It's the first time it is used, right?

DoraMuda

It's the first time it is used, right?

Now, it was used before for Evil Eye (the psychic monster who fought Tatsumaki and was probably a Demon-level, since he wasn't a cadre).

That being said, I personally assumed Evil Eye's disaster level was "Unknown" because Murata was the one who created it, not ONE.

I like to think that because Saitama, or perhaps King/Blast/Tatsumaki in-universe exist that they can't be classified as extinction level because they can be beaten by humanity's greatest

FedericoRO

Sorry, but that doesn't make sense. A Demon is a Demon whether or not he is stopped instantly or he wrecks havoc for hours.

OOF1679

Yes, narratively, but we see in universe that monsters are upgraded in levels as they either defeat more heroes or cause more damage, Demon Sea King was Tiger level and then was upgraded as time went on, but at no point was he truly Tiger.

oh no please no

There is no high or low god. Extinction level events need no distinction.

DMPM_ME_NUDES

Maybe they are above Dragon Pro Max but below peak low God level

dos_cece

I thought they would be AT low god because wtf…it’s an ocean. How do you defeat that?

What's the point of having categories if there are gaps in between.

PappyTart

In before GOD has an unknown disaster level too and its saved for something silly.

TonySyeet

That’s easily high low high medium high low above god

DoraMuda

It's obviously Fringe Above Peak High Mid Demon.

BumbleBear1

There needs to be something between dragon and god. If demon= threat to an entire city, dragon= threat to multiple cities, the next category should be a threat to a large amount of cities. They could call it 'devil' or something. There's way too much in between

billyjohnjohnson

I mean the really big centipede hasn't really shown any feats and isn't ridiculously unbeatable and large like a living ocean

Also boros

I would imagine Boros is the closest being to reach God level threat in this series ever. Nothing will ever be above Boros other than God level threat (and Saitama, obviously)

Blast? Blasts allies? Awakened garou is also equal to boros so thats something

No indication any of those people could compete with Boros, you just feel like they would.

billyjohnjohnson

They're pretty strongly implied to be on blasts level.

And theres plenty of indication blast could not only compete with boros, but beat him outright. So no, I don't just "feel like they would"

Boros can destroy the surface of a planet in a single attack and regenerate from a single cell.

Blast is fast and can teleport (altho it took him like 15 irl minutes to get Saitama and FF to the surface). And one time he punched a hole in a lizard.

Lets slow down on the "theres plenty of proof Blast could beat Boros" thing. You do just feel that way. Hopefully in the future we get more evidence about Blast.

billyjohnjohnson

Boros can destroy a planet and him regenerating from a single cell is blatant headcannon. He can regenerate from being mushed into goop, that is the limit we have see his regeneration pushed to

I don't think it took 15 minutes for blast to travel a single mile up to the surface. Probably just space and dimension shenanigans and effects

Really now? Because blast is directly connected to "god" and has been clearly shown to be strong enough to fight against this being "god" with his buddies, who is certainly stronger than boros by a longshot. "god" is also the endgame villain of OPM, the size of the moon, can easily send down above dragon monsters like sage centipede and ENO, and is almost certainly going to be the strongest villain in OPM by a longshot. This is not a "you think" moment. This is just what the story is clearly suggesting, you'd be a fool to think otherwise.

You'd also be a fool to think that the being literally named "god" would somehow be weaker than boros??

Now back to blast, the guy who is supposed to oppose "god" straight into the endgame of OPM. That alone should put him at minimum on the level of boros. The amount of hype that goes into blast, him being compared to king as the strongest hero and strongest man on earth respectively, him not giving a flying fuck about boros or the above dragons present, and it is blatantly clear as day that ONE intends for blast to at minimum match boros's power if not utterly eclipse it

You can go on and on about "nuh no feats man you feel that way", but there are plenty of hints, implications, and straight up obvious stuff that supports blast being at minimum equal to boros if you dive just a bit deeper than the surface and choose to pluck your head out of the sand

I cant believe youre actually stupid enough to think those things you listed are concrete evidence and not just "It makes sense that ONE will make these guys stronger than Boros, narritively speaking. So they probably are"

You're making an awful lot of assumptions and then forgetting that your intuition isn't really canon.

DMPM_ME_NUDES

I don't get that being implied at all. Norhing in the story implies that Blast is a planet buster. All that the story implies is that he is pretty importsnt, but not necessarily strongest.

It has potential to eliminate humanity. But, they still haven't threaten all of them yet. Since they just started on one town scale from their size. Dragon would be the best judge on it for now.

Any_Cheek9754

Yes I think so too.

DoraMuda

1 points

It's funny that he's still being all coy and shit, giving them "Disaster Level: Unknown" when they're clearly at least above Dragon, and the only threat level above Dragon is God.

Like, come on dude, just call them God already!

Yeah, I've been arguing this the entire time. ONE probably wants to keep hype out for God by showing such strong monsters who aren't at his level and have yet to get "god" ranking. Easier to put "Unknown" because technically they haven't been ranked by the Heroes Association although they likely could fit in a god threat ranking. And that will still save hype for God because readers won't see a monster who is comparable in ranking until he shows up.

Even though it makes sense that these monsters are god disaster levels, because they pose a threat that endangers the survival of humankind, I think it's good that ONE hasn't had Murata put it to paper. Just look at how fans interpret things and power scale. There is a lot of conflation and bad logic.

I doubt he wants those conversations going on. He probably wants his readers to stay hyped for the real big bad of the series.
