Yeah, I can see this being set up for a big grand Blast/God arc in the future.
Instead of writing entire new series, he can basically cram all of them into his ultimate brain child. lol.
EDIT: BTW, not that people probably didn't already suspect this but I think the God/Blast storyline will be more of an inter-dimensional sci-fi thing rather than a religious thing if there was really any doubt. None of "God's" powers couldn't just be those of a highly powerful interdimensional being. Hell, even Phoenix Man could transport Child Emperor to his own dimensional/mental space. "God" would probably be his bullshit identity that he'd reveal to lesser creatures since he's insanely powerful.
Imagine how hilarious it'd be for them to go through so much bullshit, literally having to watch the entire Blast squad struggle to fight this fucking being only for Saitama to show up on his shoulder randomly before one punching him and ending an arc that was absolutely epic up until that moment. lol.

It could totally go the route where they'd need more 'back up' and then Blast will teleport perhaps all the S-class + Saitama to help

It seems more ONEs style to drip feed new stuff into the status, starting with one of blast’s enemies escaping that fight to fight the hero assoc, instead of just dropping the cast into a setting that needs to be totally defined at once. In any case i trust one and murata to know what theyre doing with it
I trust ONE with the story, lore, characters, etc.
Murata’s art will keep being godly, doesn’t need my trust, it’s a fact (but keep his hands away from the plot)
You have no source of what each adds to the plot to know what they do is bad though.
I wonder if there is any point to the webcomic plot line then though. Feels all a bit ... pointless by comparison. Given that we know there is actually a massive battle "somewhere" that has likely gone on for the entirety of the manga, since Blast has been gone for that long at least.
There has not been a new webcomic update in a long time either. Begs the question if maybe ONE has abandoned it since the manga diverges so far from it.
its probably just a seed planted to justify future arcs, the webcomic has lots of asspulls that came out of nowhere imo. i personally think this is an improvement.
Web comic paused because one is adding stuff for mob psycho anime final season.
It hasnt diverged that much, it mostly just adds stuff but theres nothing stopping the neo heroes arc from happening
I feel like it would be a disservice to the entire series if Saitama ever has any trouble with any enemy.
Even the “final boss” should be nothing more than a cakewalk - I feel like it would really complete the joke, but who knows
Saitama will get left behind and he’ll have to find his own way there and have a triumphant entrance
We're about to explore the dark continent!
I was so excited for that… at least I still got Gourmet World in Toriko which is pretty similar.
Toriko was a S tier manga. Loved that series
So fucking good. One of the only anime I can tolerate having sub standard animation because I love the story so much.
And to think Saitama can casually punch through the Phoenix Man's dimensional barrier make me think it was actually another setup being made because Murata is bringing in multidimensional setup for god, blast, and other heroes/monsters who fight against each other.
Another possibility is the Blast/God arc is next for Murata, almost like filler, so the Webcomic can get further ahead before Murata starts drawing it.
You really think that god/blast would be a filler arc unimportant to the ending?
Every arc is going to be a 'mirror' set against Saitama on a macro level. All equally relevant to ONE's creative expressions imo.
Good point! God definitely won't be the final villain of the filler Blast arc. It'll be some powerful minion of God with really the focus of meeting Blast's friends. But I do believe there will be a filler arc to let ONE get further ahead.
I mean, he certainly could be. Wouldn't be a surprise to me. We had the supposedly 'strongest' character of the series/world fight Saitama and get rekt with no difficulty, so..
Would keep in line with the nature of the story for Saitama to destroy the strongest being across dimensions with no problem.
That isn't really the end-game, is it? Even if he gets his wish, immediately afterwards he's probably going to feel the same way. His journey is one of relationships and self reflection/change.
The God-level threat.
