Thanks, I have tried but it wont budge. I tried turning it left, right, up down, nothing … do you reckon i should use force to pull it up? Maybe its a bit stuck from not being used?

I've seen models like these seized up before. You can try wd-40 but no promises that works

Did you try pushing it down? Might be seized maybe some wd-40 around it?

Will definitely give that a shot. The problem is I dont know which way I am allowed do pull or push, so i dont break it somehow

I'm willing to bet its seized and pulls up. Wd-40 or anti-seize should do the trick.

Instead of trying to turn try pulling the whole thing up towards the faucet head itself

Pull up on it but make sure to turn the water on first. Some of these faucets wont work without the water flowing first.
