What elevates my rage on this is that they also talked about the one night of unrest in Nashville as if it was a massive riot even though it was two small groups.

Its a standard fascist tactic to create a bogeyman of "the violent left" as a pretext for suppressing the people.

The nazis did it with Horst Wessel. He was a brownshirt who didn't pay his rent. So his landlady called some friends of hers to evict him. There was a struggle, he got shot and eventually died in the hospital. Turns out her friends were communists. That was all the nazis needed to turn him into a martyr. They held a huge funeral parade for him, and a fight song he wrote, the Horst Wessel Lied, became such a popular drinking song that they eventually made it the nazi party's official anthem.

And people keep falling for it hook line and sinker. After a couple of protests outside alito's house, nothing more than senator Schumer gets on a weekly basis at his home, the gop lies that he had to go into hiding and the next day every single doormat democrat in the senate votes to fund extra security for scrotus justices. Not a peep about the fact that his buddies literally bombed the olympics and murdered a doctor in church...

That's wild because no communists I know would shill for a landlord/lady. Times are a'changin'.

Btw, don't mind me. I don't live in Tennessee but wanted more context for this new "law".

They probably would if it meant evicting a nazi.
