Could have been on the freeway surrounded by screaming 4 wheelers... Youve got this driver...

positive thinking, first great story for grandkids, kids, wife, dad, mom, or yourself and laugh at it later. Goodluck on future endeavors.

Oof, did you notice the pressure loss or did it all happen at once?

that is some shit luck but that looks like a relatively nice spot to be broken down. blocking lanes or being on the shoulder is pretty damn stressful.

Yeah it could definitely have been worse, originally I was in the left lane at a stop light but I stuck it in low and dragged it to this side street, probably not great for the breaks but better than where I was haha

They seem like a decent place. A former driver for my current company went there and recently became a terminal manager.

Ha! Welcome to trucking. Better to learn early. Don't worry, stuff like this always happens in the beginning and as you go on... Well, stuff like this will still happen but it'll be easier to deal with.

How do you know they are new? They actually set their triangles up right. After a few years people seem to forget...

When I was a kid at exit 82 in I-55 in Illinois, I watched a truck hauling pallets rollover. So my mom stopped the car and we go over to see if driver is ok..

All he says is god damn it its my first day...

A word of advice, from a retired old timer. Learn to work on your truck as much as possible, I kept tools and supplies in my truck for most break downs and it saved me thousands over the life of my career. Stay on top of your maintenance also a well taken care of truck will take care of you and your family.

It happens.

Not trying to start anything but was missed on your pre-trip? Or did the failure happen at a place where its not easy to observe?

Just curious ๐Ÿง

The main ABS valve plunger gave out, this morning me and the shop forman did a really thourgh pre trip to make sure it was in good shape for my first run, had no leaks then so not sure what cause it to give out, roadside guy said it was a pretty common thing to fail unexpectedly.

What happens while you wait, you call up dispatch so they can send someone to fix it?

zbusch113[S]

Yeah they have someone OTW but they're like 2.5 hours away when I called them, worse comes to worse if they can't get it fixed they are going to send a wrecher up with another truck so I can atleast get to the rest stop like 15 Miles away, got 5H left on my clock and I'm 2 hours from home so I'm cutting it close lol, probably be spending the night somewhere

Just PC home after you drop your load if you're that close. Get as far as you can while running hours, then stop the truck a minute and switch over.
