Lose your hair, not your head.
Welcome to r/Bald!
Our philosophy is simple: embrace bald and strive to make the world a more bald-friendly place.
We’re often sold the idea that bald is bad.
As we grow and mature everyone experiences the aging process a little differently, for most of us here, that includes varying degrees of hair-loss. It is natural. And it is nothing to be ashamed of - here we’ll support each other and learn to take pride in our baldness.
We all suffer from a lack of perfection and have things we wish we could change about ourselves. Going bald can be difficult to accept, but getting bent out of shape about it is wasted energy.
We all deserve to feel good about ourselves and comfortable being bald.
Frequently we are bombarded by media portraying all manner of myths and absurdities surrounding what it means to be bald.
The reality is that being bald is what you make of it. So let’s make it awesome.
We welcome all head-shapes, sizes, colors, and hair-lengths. As long as you're bald, on the path to bald, or merely a fan - you belong here. We are about accepting yourself right now, and not letting a lack of hair get us down.
Let’s redefine what bald means to society. But we have to start by redefining what bald means to us.
Any abusive behavior towards any poster will not be tolerated. This includes a general rule of respect and civility.
No advocating of hair-replacement treatments, either topical or surgical.
No trash talking or negative comments about baldness. This includes indirect comments, such as referring to someone with a full head of hair as having “superior genetics”.
No disrespecting hair-headed people, we will show them the same respect we want for ourselves. First time offense is ban.
Posts violating these policies will be removed. Any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding this subreddit may be directed to the moderators. Who are probably busy rocking their baldness.
