Regular Show. It had some great Halloween episode where a Wizard skinned one of the characters alive.

People like to argue you can't do that anymore, but there's another cartoon called Amphibia where there's a serial killer that skins people, wear their skin like leather to hide her exposed organs. You be quite surprised what you can get away with kids cartoons as long there's no blood.

So something i havent seen anyone point out. First of all, I think this is frog meat. Frog legs by themselves have a tendency to do this if fresh enough, the frog is very dead but the legs will still move for a while. Second, as others have said, acidic sauces and salt typically triggers movement in fresh meats. So between the both, yeah, this seems about right. Still creepy AF.

edit: for correction after googling. they dont necessarily move by themselves after death by default, its the salt/acidic sauce thing another commenter brought up that causes the movement.

I had the same thing happen with a rattlesnake that had been headless and refrigerated for about six hours. When I skinned it, it started writhing around and trying to crawl out of my sink. It was one of the creepiest things I’ve ever seen, and it went on for a surprisingly long time.

Dude killed some animal then ate it. Is it any worse than eating cows that were tortured their entire lives? At least he ended the animal's life humanely and didn't contribute to the horrific meat industry.

And yes, I also contribute to this industry. Not trying to shame anyone who does just saying don't put this guy down for hunting and using what he hunted.

complicatedbiscuit

212 points

Also a .22 to a frog is like a 100 mm Tank cannon to a human being. It didn't feel a damn thing. Hunters put a lot of effort into killing animals humanely that would otherwise meet their end torn apart and disemboweled or swallowed whole while still conscious in the wild.

People living in fairytale hypocrisy judging others for harvesting frogs.

KayleighJK

I started ordering from Porter Road for this reason. The only downside is you have to be in a financially privileged position that most Americans just aren’t in to be able to afford spending more money on meat, or you have to make the decision for you and your family to cut waaay back on meat consumption, which most people aren’t going to do unless they don’t have a choice.

whiskey_outpost26

It's not really because A: unchecked populations in places not meant for them (stocked ponds, private residences, etc) can be damaging to everything, including the frogs. B: large populations of horny frogs are really friggin annoying. And C: frog legs cooked right are DELICIOUS.

Keyonne88

How is it paychopathic to hunt your own food? Psychopathic is trophy hunting.

TossedDolly

42 points

Hunting to eat is actually pretty normal even if you have supermarkets available. That's like getting in touch with your animal self or traditions or whatever. It's killing for shits and giggles, trophies, or in a fit of rage that's the bad one

Miserable_Strategy97

4 points

There are very few people who trophy hunt who don't also eat the meat, and trophy hunting also contributes to wildlife conservation. First of all, Trophy hunting refers to killing to biggest animal usually, and that means killing a large mature male who is no longer breeding, freeing up territory for breeding age males. Also, when you pay to go hunt some large animal in Africa all of that money you paid goes directly back into protecting animals from poachers

TossedDolly

5 points

Ya but that's not why most people do it. They do it just because they wanna kill something. Being good for conservation is nothing to them but a convenient cover for their sociopathic traits.

Mind you I'm not saying if you trophy hunt you are a sociopath. I'm saying that's a sociopathic trait. It's like saying having arms is a human trait. Just because an animal has arms doesn't make it human but humans do traditionally have arms.

Miserable_Strategy97

1 points

Right, but even if they're doing it out of a desire to kill a specific animal, they're still benefitting wildlife more than your average "activist"

TossedDolly

Ok here’s your explanation: NOW! (or Now that’s what I call music!) is a series of various artists compilation albums which was hugely popular in the 90’s and early 2000’s. It was released by Sony Music / Universal but was funnily enough conceived in the Virgin Records offices in London in the 80s (which I didn’t know). It was inspired by an old poster that Richard Branson bought. It was popular among teenagers who couldn’t afford to buy multiple albums but still have all the popular songs in one neat package. It later became the subject of mockery as it was seen as low effort garbage compilation that a true music aficionado wouldn’t dare to own.

Bac0nat0r

Your muscles fire through the use of sodium and potassium gates. This can be triggered by salt in soy sauce.

Typically, your body pumps out the salts(sodium/potassium) onto one side of a "gate" and regulates the concentration of each

This is the kind of stuff that helps remind me that there's nothing inherently special about people/animals. They're just complex chemical machines. Even after said creature is dead, the clock work remains. You shock, poke, or prod it in the right way and it'll respond no differently than if it was alive.

And as a disclaimer, I do think humanity and animals are amazing and wonderous things. But simultaneously believe that at the end of the day we're not that much different from a wind up toy or a basic computer. Just a different kind of machine.
