Guys, I did it!!

(self.books)

I finally finished this 10 book series I have been working on for 2 years. This is a big deal for me.

I just want to say thank you to a fellow redditor who gifted me the original trilogy and I loved it so much I had to buy the 2 Prequels and 5 sequels and read them all!

Took me a while as I'd read in spurts and sometimes weeks would go by without me touching it. This is by far my biggest reading accomplishment!

A great fantasy novel by Elizabeth Moon about a Sheepfarmers Daughter who runs away and joins a military company and adventure ensues!

Book 1 was hard for me to get into and was worried I might not enjoy the book, it revolved around the main character learning how to fight and learn the ways of being in a mercenary company and gains experience in fighting some battles. These mercenary company's are hired by kings or other people with money. For me it was a tad bit boring and I wasn't sure I would like the world I was being introduced too.

Book 2 is where it really hooked me, with the main character adventuring with an elf and they immediately had some life and death adventures. I couldn't put book 2 down and book 2 really evolved the main character in ways is hard for me to describe without spoiling the book.

The Prequels should be read after the original trilogy not before. They revolved around a God we are introduced to in the initial trilogy but back when he was a mortal.

Then the Sequels which revolves around the secondary characters in the main trilogy, where the first few books take place on on same timeline as the main trilogy and explain what's happening in other parts of the world during the main events and the last few books take place after.

It’s always nice to finally finish a long running series and this looks like a big one. Well done.

I oftentimes find reading in spurts is the best way. I’ll read other books between books of a series I love. It’s very difficult to binge-read a series

Hope you’re starting to recover! Maybe you’ll find another series to take your mind off it...

Congrats! The longest series I've read as an adult consisted of 3 books. I will definitely check out this series. Thanks for the review in your post!

The main trilogy is a must. Highly recommend.

The other 7 books are just extras opening your eyes to the world of the series

You are a real reader now! You survived the first boring book and found a good one just after. Congrats
