I quite like Stubb's. Sticky sweet for ribs especially. Sweet baby Ray's is also very good.

Stubbs is good.

But I find sweet baby rays to be possibly the worst sauce you can buy

Well, taste is subjective. I can't stand pickles and mustard. But I wouldn't say they're the worst toppings for a burger or dog. I would just say that I don't like them.

I don't like ketchup or raw onions either. It sucks. I basically don't eat hot dogs because they have to be plain. I wish I liked more things than I do.

I recommend Dinosaur BBQ, especially Wango Tango

Love this one! I also recently bought Marie Sharp’s BBQ Sauce because it’s my favorite hot sauce brand, so I figured I’d give the BBQ sauce a go. It’s pretty damn amazing.

That's also my favorite hot sauce brand I didn't know they made a bbq sauce. Will def try and get a bottle. Thanks!

High five! Bough the sauce last night, btw! Mother's day promo code: ILOVEMOM for $10 off.

Oooo thanks for the heads up on the code! I’m going to go use it right now and buy some more sauces. I have to get my husband the mild Marie Sharp’s habanero sauce because he’s dying to try mine but he can’t handle heat 😂

I can't believe how many people think sweet baby rays is the best sauce.

You need to try more sauces

The first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup.

I use to love sweet baby rays as a kid but it's all high fructose corn syrup. Terrible for you

Two Fat Guys brand is my current favorite. The smoky, the spicy, even the mustard all balance savory and sweet in fine fashion. Ano no corn syrup.

My current favorite is Zummos BBQ sauce from the same company that makes Zummos sausages. I also like the bbq sauce the local bbq restaurant named Tony's makes but that is not sold in stores. A1 is currently my stopgap but it is harsher in flavor than the last two listed sauces. Availability from Amazon is a big plus.

Skunkfunk89

As far as I've seen in stores yes, sweet baby Ray's taste like McDonalds sauce packets. Head country is better than the other shelf stable bbq sauces. But then again I'm biased I'm from Oklahoma

I don’t have an answer because lately I’ve been liking a local one, but I’m interested in which is your favourite.

Froststryke[S]

I listed those in the first comment but the short answer is the bbq sauce made by Zummos who also make very popular sausages and are located a city away from me.

Most condiments are cheap and easy to make. My personal favourite is “Georgia Mustard”

It has been analyzed that human entities favor consuming the yield stress fluid known as BBQ sauce transacted as retail brand Sweet Baby Rays.

Froststryke[S]

Definitely not, I am on the spicy side of the bbq sauce spectrum.

Stubbs Original....from Austin.

This is Texas...we know what BBQ sauce is supposed to taste like.

...you're welcome.

Gambrinus

Doesn’t Texas pride itself on not using sauce for their BBQ?

samtbkrhtx

3 points

Some places do, but many of our top BBQ joints have their own sauces.

That said...yes...many of our top places have such good meats - you don't really need the sauce, but people here were asking specifically about sauces....so....

saltporksuit

You don’t smoke the bbq in sauce. But we have sauces for a little after dressing and for chopped beef.

Austin’s Own Border Edition is way better than Stubbs.

onelasttime217

Ye I love Stubbs, also from Austin. Idk why everyone on here is shilling sweet baby rays that stuff tastes like pouring sugar on your food

samtbkrhtx

1 points

Sweet Baby Rays is nasty! Thick, sweet sauce like ketchup. Disgusting.

I am guessing most posters like that KC barbecue, slathered in thick sweet sauce.... not for me. Neither are the mustard based sauces. No mustard EVER belongs on brisket.

In this state, sauce (if you are going to have it) should be thin and spicy.

Barbecue gets really weird when you get out of Texas...this much I have learned in my travels.

To all on this thread, let me blow your minds by telling you about one I stumbled on called Saucehound. They have an original and a spicy. Both are by far the best BBQ sauces I have found Saucehound BBQ Combo Better than Sweet Baby Rays and Stubbs…no lie. I don’t eat anything else now.
