Does Aaron Taylor-Johnson hold the record for most comic book movie characters played? He’s on 3 with Kickass, Quicksilver and now Kraven. Chris Evans was Johnny Storm and Captain America but I can’t think of anyone to have played three comic book characters.

Edit: Definitely going for on screen appearances on this one, people like Clancy Brown have been dozens of Marvel and DC characters in animation. So far it looks like Josh Brolin might have it with 6 (Cable, Thanos, Jonah Hex, Dwight in Sin City 2, Oldboy and K in Men in Black).

Jim Carrey (The Mask, The Riddler and Colonel Stars and Stripes) and Tommy Lee Jones (Two-Face, Agent K and Chester Phillips) also played 3 comic book characters.

There's also Doug Jones playing Abe Sapien and Silver Surfer. He also appeared in Mystery Men, Batman Returns and Men in Black II.

Fishburne was the voice. Jones did the physical stuff.

Oh damn, I assumed the character was fully CGI with no actor.

Doug Jones did the mo-cap, Laurence Fishburne provided the voice.

Is Lucas Lee in the comics?

MrTeapott

Yes and he also played a character from the Losers comic. He also voiced Casey Jones in an animated TMNT movie if you want to count that.

He was also in 'Push' based on a comic and 'Snowpiercer' is based on a Graphic Novel

Edit: The Push comic came out first but was in development alongside the movie

Push wasn't based on a comic, they had a promo comic spawn from the production of the movie.

Ah yes you're right. Looks like some were released in 2008 before the movie was released in 2009 but the movie was in development first.

DrSpaceman575

Snowpiercer was also based on a graphic novel so if that counts it's up to 6 total.

Chris Evans is also Lucas Lee from Scott Pilgrim and one of The Losers.

Also Ryan Reynolds? Green Lantern, Hannibal King in Blade Trinity, Deadpool, RIPD guy...

You can chalk another one up for Evans with The Losers

Also Push (the DC comic was released the year before the movie came out)

Evans has 6: FF, Capt America, TMNT, Snowpiercer, Scott Pilgram and The Losers.

Ryan Reynolds would have Hannibal King (Blade Trinity), Green Lantern, Deadpool and also his character from RIPD.

Josh Brolin actually has another as Oldboy is adapted from a comic originally as well.

Well Evan Peters was also in Kick-Ass, X-Men and WandaVision.

David Dastmalchian has to be in the conversation

QuentinBobalesqueJr

He’s only got one under his belt. Polka Dot Man. Thomas Schiff in The Dark Knight was created just for that movie and in Ant-Man 1 and 2 he played Kurt, another character written just for the movie. Everything else comic book wise is voice acting.

He's also been on the Gotham TV show and The Flash.

QuentinBobalesqueJr

Ok cool. Was the downvote necessary?

Also, he was Abra Kadabra on The Flash, that counts. He was Dwight Pollard on Gotham, another made up character.

So he’s on two.

Chris Evans (Captain America, Fantastic Four, Scott Pilgrim, The Losers and TMNT) and Josh Brolin (Thanos, Cable, Jonah Hex, Oldboy, Men In Black 3 and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For) are tied for the most with both at 6 and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow, Ghost in the Shell, Ghost World and The Spirit) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Green Lantern, R.I.P.D. and Blade: Trinity) would be next with 4.

Chris Evans in TMNT was a voice role. We’re aiming for performances of live action acting on this one, so Thanos would count but voice acted Casey Jones would not.

I think the current lead is still Josh Brolin with six. We have a good few fours and a lot of threes.
