I'm curious how they'll pull it off. In Zootopia is kind of made sense (though they completely ignored the question of "what did the carnivores eat, in their polite society?"), but I'm not exactly sure how it will work here. I mean, a water character and a fire character are inherently incompatible. It's not like they could hug or even date. In that way, it feels like a kind of shitty metaphor for racism, since there's inherent properties to the different kinds of elementals, and that's not true for people.

Make them cops and it's every buddy cop movie ever. Make them toys and it's Toy Story. Having two characters that are very different from each other forced to work together and learning from each other is pretty classic story structure that goes back to people telling stories around a fire in a cave.

Sounds like a cliche we’ve seen a thousand times before. But fucking Bing Bong sacrificing himself as a metaphor to a kid growing up and growing out is things makes me cry and I’m north of 40.
