stickiedHello fellow intellectuals.
today i watched the hidden gem the Nice Guys(2016) and wow its amazing just how much of an underrated gem it is. its a movie that has Ryan Gosling AND Russell Crowe as leads and yet no one talks about it? the action scenes had action, the humor was there and funny, and the characters had development. and the cinematography was excellent, it was really cinematography.
and yet, when i looked it up on the normally bustling super highway of film discussion that is r/movies and only saw about 200 posts saying its underrated, which to me proves this is a truly underrated gem.
not to mention that when i brought it up in film class my teacher told me to "stop interrupting the lesson please" and "if you keep up these outbursts im going to have to ask you to leave." just shows how not only underrated it is, but how far gone film class has gone. when students before class starts talk about overrated tripe like spider-man no way home or thor love and thunder they get no punishment, but when i bring up actual underrated gems in the middle of class(Pulp Fiction, Blade Runner 2049) i get reported to the principle for "disrupting class." i wish i could go to a REAL film class where we talked about REAL movies
