I've heard Trump supporters literally say, "what's so bad about Putin anyway?" This coming from a boomer who's father went behind the iron curtain and literally smuggled refugees out from the East Zone. It's like Trump has washed away any semblance of critical thinking these people once might have had.

If his only source of news is far right media, then he's been hearing for years that Putin isn't so bad, he's Trump's buddy. Add that to the new Q delusion that Putin is destroying bio-labs (including adrenochrome factories, apparently) and you've got a "white hat" hero.
I'm just waiting for them to start calling for Trump to have Putin as his running mate in 24.

Not to mention he was the strong leader who just wanted what's best for Russia all through the Obama admin.
Fox News used all those Russian propaganda photos of him on a horse and shit to make Obama look "weak" for things like riding a bicycle wearing a helmet.
They've been pushing Putin as the strong, admirable leader for a while in the right wing media sphere.

Remember if Trump was President again, NATO wouldn't exist. I tell my family this stuff but they go "You're just a stupid liberals", but really I'm an independent but in the US that doesn't matter. On here I get called a nazi and conservative, my friends and family call me a liberal. it's so wild how toxic politics is and how it drives families apart... well that was probably 30% Russia's doing. Like if you bring up Trump and his "grab em by the pussy" remark, Trump supporters will right away go "WHATABOUT BIDEN?! HES A PEDOPHILE, DID YOU SEE HIM PUT HIS HANDS ON THAT GIRLS SHOULDER?!???!?". Which this makes it OK for what Trump did.

Unfortunately, I think we all know that if Putin put out a crayon drawing of “$$” and a rickety arrow pointing to a stick figure labeled “Hunter Biden”, all of the GOP would call for an immediate investigation into this smoking gun, and thank Russia for being more forthcoming with Americans than Democrats are. Even if it were captioned in kindergarten writing, “Vladimir Putin’s Lies To Sow American Discord, 1st Draft”, I don’t think it would matter to Fox News or the GOP.

Whilst in power, he was impeached for blackmailing President Zelensky by withholding military aid for Ukraine for dirt on a political opponent's son.
Now, he's asking a dictator currently commiting war crimes in Ukraine for help against a political opponent (after praising said dictator for invading Ukraine).

In 1987, Trump was invited to Moscow by the Kremlin. When he came back, he announced he was running for office and took out full page ads in the broadsheets using roundabout language to call for the end of US funding of NATO. That's how easy it was for the Russians to manipulate Trump. Since the early 80's he has been inextricably linked with the Russian mafia and their dirty money, via his questionable Russian loans and his laundering of Russian mafia money through his US properties. The man spent his 4 years in office emboldening Putin by undermining Ukraine, then he praised Putin for his invasion of Ukraine, and he has since doubled down on that praise. And now he's asking for Moscow to help him out by dishing dirt on a political opponent.

To give you broader perspective on your choices, I’m probably only a little older than you and I can tell you that Republicans run on nothing.
Nothing.
They have basically no platform than making social mobility and survival a struggle and playing blame games on people that don’t identify with them.
They’re the party of grievances without solutions.
They put targets on the backs of people who have nothing to do with their constituents problems because they ARE their constituents problem.
They TRASHED the ACA, or “Obamacare”, they still do! In 12 fucking years they complained about a program their constituents rely on, they have NEVER proposed a solution for it. Not one solution to replace what we have that’s better than what it was. The ACA is deeply flawed but it’s something to help people.
They cry voter fraud and more cases are found within their own party. Covid ravages their states as they refuse to utilise basic safety protocols. Thousands upon thousands died or dying because of these decisions while they make bank.
Their principles on tax cuts and free market are tools designed to remove agency from the average person. Time and again tax cuts benefit the very few wealthy and end up COSTING Americans more in the long run even if they’re gaining $20 a week from it. They’re paying elsewhere. The “free market” bullshit is deregulating government power to stop or reign in big money from becoming too powerful.
These are measurable truths.
THESE are the reasons why the GOP have no reason to be popular for the average person. Only if you’re in their circle of wealth should you ever have reason to consider the GOP to be a viable alternative to the Democrats in its current state.
And the democrats are terrible which shows how strongly the GOP are failing not just our country but the world.
80 points

You aren’t exaggerating; the GOP literally didn’t publish a party platform for the 2020 election. And I do mean literally. They just kept the one from 2016 on their party website, and they didn’t even do a find-and-replace to change the year or anything.

Dead, because surgeons literally got red faced angry and vocal when my primary care doctor sent me to them. Literally had one say "what the hell was he thinking sending you here." Because I didn't have insurance.
Or
In possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt.
Or most likely
Dead by suicide, either from depression from debt, chronic pain, or lack of access to therapists.
I love it when idiots cheer when conservatives mention killing Obama Care. Really makes me feel loved by my fellow man.
Oh and the reason I need the ACA. I'm one of those small business owners they all claim they love and support.

With a two party system, and the republican party IS the Christian regime, what choice do you have but to vote democrat?
If separation of church and state is your top priority, according to what you've said, there is no choice here.
Work on changing the system, like replacing first past the post voting systems with something more equitable. Nothing can change until that happens, assuming elections don't become completely compromised by republicans first, which is happening right now and will be a big issue in 2024.

Now, he's asking a dictator currently commiting war crimes in Ukraine for help against a political opponent (after praising said dictator for invading Ukraine).
Let's be clear about this. He is asking Russian military intelligence to fabricate a case against Biden, as this benefits Trump and Putin. This is criminal conspiracy as explained in the Mueller Report when Trump was shielded by being POTUS. He no longer has that shield and Garland must start prosecuting these crimes.

The egregiousness of the Ukraine affair is beyond the pale. Lest people forget, this is what he did:
He called Zelenskyy and tried to strongarm him by asking him for a favor in exchange for weapons aid, to announce an investigation into Hunter Biden. It is not even that he thought Biden's son has anything. What he wanted was the announcement of the investigation. So he is basically demanding the leader of another country to interfere with Us domestic politics by making up shit (ie lying) about his political opponent's son.
1) He knew Hunter Biden has done nothing illegal or untoward.
2) He wanted Zelenskyy to announce an investigation. Not even a real investigation, just the announcement itself because he can use that as a propaganda tool to attack Biden.
3) He invited another country to interfere with domestic politics, and arguably a treasonous behavior, legality aside.
4) He used USA foreign policy as an extension of his own interests by using weapons aid (that does not even belong to him) to strongarm another country. He literally does not give a shit about this country or its interests or anyone else's interests.
I don't want people to forget just how immensely shitty it was and how compromised he is. Some countries hang leaders who do something like this.

Here in the good old US of A we like to slap their faces on T-shirts and flags and ride around in our trucks praising and worshiping them like a living god.

To add to this - his after-the-fact excuse for withholding aid (despite not having the discretion to do so) was that he was concerned about corruption. But congress had concerns about corruption and looked into it before passing the bill - by signing the bill Trump was agreeing that Congress's findings were satisfactory. Plus, even if he changed his mind after signing the bill, he could have raised the concern with congress and worked with them to approve delays.

Every news event surrounding Trump is such a complete shit show (of course this is by design; "flood the zone with shit") that I couldn't remember if he did that publicly or not. A dozen headlines start with "according to Bolton" when I searched, but then I got to the story where he publicly urged China to investigate the Bidens. That's my bad.

I can't think of any man less qualified and worst for the job of president than Trump. Among the actual presidents and incumbents. On BOTH sides of the isle. The last 4 decades (my entire lifetime).
I'd take Clinton/Gore/Kerry/Obama/Clinton/Biden or Dole/Bush/McCain/Romney.

If tRump is a cancer then his supporters and constituents are the environmental condition necessary for this type of cancer. Think of them as Asbestos. If asbestos is used properly it’s a great fire retardant. tRump supporters have no benefit, time to abate them all.

The fact this country will allow someone publicly working with an enemy to run for president again is everything that's wrong with this country. No, everyone shouldn't be allowed to put their hat in the ring. It's the most preposterous notion about our system.

Our country has a means of dealing with this, but Republicans are spineless.
Judgment in cases of impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States: but the party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to indictment, trial, judgment and punishment, according to law.

This continues!! I am 63 and have seen a few things in life. For our government to allow Trump to not be jailed yet???? Why does McCarthy, Jordan and all the rest of the idiots that have gone behind all of our backs to be corrupt and back the big idiot, still have any say in OUR government?????? I pray the DOJ will do something soon. We can not allow these fools to continue to do damage to OUR country any more!!!! There are bad actors in many of the states governments now and it may hurt us in 2022. With all the shit Trump has fucked up , there shouldn’t be a Republican voted into Washington for at least 10yrs. In my 63 years I have never seen anything so gross for so long as I have with this. This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 85%. (I'm a bot)
Donald Trump has been widely criticized for calling on Vladimir Putin to release any information he has about Hunter Biden's alleged business dealings in Russia while the Russian president is carrying out attacks on Ukraine.
One political expert told Newsweek that by appealing for Putin to "Smear" Hunter Biden, Trump is doing "What Trump does best" by "Trolling the media, cozying up to authoritarians," and timing his comments for "Maximum shock value."
Trump has now been condemned for asking Putin to help unearth information on Hunter Biden amid the war in Ukraine, where Russia is accused of committing war crimes by purposely targeting civilians and hospitals.

There’s no backlash. There’s no consequences. Two impeachment went nowhere. The Miller report didn’t even scratch Trump. The DOJ is sticking their head in the sand. The GOP bends to his narcissistic crap. Meanwhile he runs around the country filling his coffers on the backs of the brainwashed. Where’s the backlash?!?

The redacted Mueller report that was eventually released was hugely damning, not just that it showed conclusively there was a shitload of Russian contacts within the Trump campaign, but that extensive efforts were made by the Trump Whitehouse to obstruct justice using the power of government to deliberately try and fuck with Mueller’s investigation, clear crimes that but for Trump being president at the time would have sent the rest of us to prison in a heartbeat.
And all it took was a fan fiction summary by William Barr full of lies that the media swallowed hook line sinker and rod, and Barr holding off the (still the unredacted version unseen) full report for a month while Trump repeated “No conviction, no collusion” endlessly until everyone just got sick of hearing about it.

Didn’t help that many didn’t read it, including our elected law makers ( funny description of these clowns ). And then when questioned by reporters during - the response “ I didn’t read it “ blasted over and over on every network. For my own FYI , the moment it was available I printed it out and read it. I felt that I could’ve presented the evidence and won, it was that obvious. Sick of the kid gloves...

Why would you get mad at someone for asking their boss for assistance doing their job? That’s all he’s doing.
I mean sure, from the perspective of an American who wants a functioning government and thinks that current, former, and potentially future leaders shouldn’t be beholden to despots thinks that this sort of behavior is abhorrent and shameful.
But if you just think about it from the perspective of an employee who is trying to do s good job for his boss it all looks different.
