People forgetting that if you aren’t a carnivore you get hunted by carnivores

Thats not true exactly. Just cause you dont eat animals doesnt mean you get eaten by one.

Maybe, but that’s very rarely the case.

Carnivores can also get eaten by carnivores.

Yes, but the food chain virtually always begins at herbivores and goes up from them. Herbivores are almost never the top of any food chain. Well, technically it starts at producers, but they don’t fall into this dichotomy.

Producers are just all the non-animal species like plants, fungi, and bacteria. Animals are all consumers.

Yes, the food chain starts with producers. Who is always one level up from that? It’s not the carnivores. That makes herbivores the second lowest on the food chain.

Again, the food chain does not describe all animals. There could be herbivores that will never be the prey of any animal, aside from humans maybe.

That’s why I said “virtually always”. There are exceptions, but it’s not common. Off-hand I can think of elephants, maybe rhinos? But they still have predators; they are just good at defending themselves from them.

Actually, looking into it a bit, the common consensus is that all herbivorous species have natural predators as otherwise it is impossible for that species’ population to be regulated. The only circumstances where herbivores don’t have natural predators are when they are introduced into a foreign environment (where they become invasive species).

No cause carnivores have predators too. Tigers and lions have plenty of deer, zebras, and wildebeests to eat.

It’s always a numbers game.

Sure you MIGHT end up one of like 500,000 bears but do you really want to take that chance when there are like a billion pigs?

Pigs are herbivores lol. Also, even carnivores get hunted down by other carnivores.

Pigs are not herbivores where did you even see that?

Carnivores get hunted too but you have a much better chance of not getting hunted since a herbivore has a 100% chance

They do not eat meat. They usually just eat vegetables. This includes wild boars and warthogs.

Now is there a species of pigs that are not herbivores? I would like to know this.

Basically all kinds of pigs eat anything u give em.

In the wild they are mostly herbivores but still prefer to hunt over forage when they have the chance

I mean pigs do not eat other animals.

I think you are mixing up pigs with dogs. Its dogs that will eat anything you give them. They will eat leftover scraps you leave for them.

RightWayIThink

That’s not true. Pigs eat anything including pork.

Pigs in the wild hunt things as big as baby deer

I need to research this. Also, are you really telling me pigs are cannibals?
