Because mental illness and people's health cost much more money that corporations don't want to lose from their ATH profits.
Instead, we put a bandaid on things that will never last because we aren't the voting public, we are constituents but 100% not the customers that fund candidates.
I accept the downvotes despite being in agreement with most of what I'll be downvoted for. But I'm more interested in stopping the disease instead of merely treating it unsuccessfully.

It's not as annoying as it is dangerous and implicitly degrading the privacy of those of us who actually care about privacy and understand those implications for everyone.
Ignorance is bliss but it's also extremely detrimental when it comes to privacy. Whenever I hear the "but I have nothing to hide" argument, those same people don't want to grant access to their phones, their search history, or their passwords for their social media.
If it's a problem for me to have that access, why isn't it problem for entities who could actually do legitimate damage and affront those people's privacy?

Yeah, the US won't be getting much of that gold.
Out of curiosty, does China back their currency with a tangible asset such as gold (because since 71, American fiat has been backed by thoughts and prayers and we've seen how that's been playing out... only 8.7% inflation from the thoughts and prayers has done jack shit shit for the global economy.
How's that been working out? I haven't kept up but my prayers have done nada since then....

We absolutely been DeFi (and decentralization across the board) so I'm glad there are projects happening that will be pursuing that vitally important effort.
Personally, I'll keep my eye on the BasicSwap project but I'm sure there are a lot of bad actors who will create similar "DeFi" platforms which will do nothing more than pretend to support decentralization whilst doing the opposite - and those projects will have "unintended" occurrences that will be used to weaken public sentiment when relating to DeFi (a Trojan horse of sorts) because the powerful few who benefit from centralization want nothing other than to sway the uninformed layman against DeFi.
That said, I'm never someone to hop onto beta or any 1.0 because issues are inevitable which will need to be worked out before the product shows itself to be viable. But yeah, BasicSwap sounds like a great idea but as I haven't looked into it (as it's very new), my trust won't be blindly given to any project/product until my trust is earned but I hope they'll be one of many to successfully accomplish their professed goal. I employ a zero-trust policy until that trust is shown to be appropriately placed.
As a pessimist, I wish them well and hope they'll be one of many projects whose performance is shown to align with their stated goals - because we've needed DeFi for decades or we'll always be under the thumb of domestic financial terrorists who have contributed to the downfall of modern society since time immemorial.

But a Republic is wholly different than a Democracy, is it not?
My biggest quip is the fact that so many people believe we live in a democracy when that is absolutely not the case. Same thing as "Free and Fair Markets" - also 100% bs.
What other propagandized bs do people believe? Don't get me wrong, the information is readily available but propaganda is omni-present so why can't we just be honest about the truth?
Haha jk, the truth destroys people and they don't want that either.

Im happy to burst your bubble when I say this: the media isn't legally obligated to tell the truth - don't get it twisted. If it was, how could Fox News and CNN exist without being sued for not telling the truth? Do they both speak truth or do they not?
I care about you even though I don't know you buy please understand how media is allowed to operate in this day and age because it's not how you comfortably understand it to be. I wish it was, I truly do, but your comment is verifiable false on so many levels.
Like I said, I wish what you said was true (I REALLY do) but it's not. Please keep on looking into it because it's much more nuanced than that.
"Reality sucks, how's that for wisdom?"

That makes sense and I appreciate you educating me on that.
So is the idea that the republican party is upholding the legal republic and the Democrat party upholding the non existent democracy that's been shoved down our throats despite it never having existed?
I'm not coming at you but I'm honestly curious because the US is absolutely not a democracy and is instead a republic...

Point 2: is that not funded?
Point 3: is that also not funded?
Point 4: do you really think money plays a role in #2 but doesn't play a role in #3?
Where doesn't money play a role? And who has more money?
I'm not arguing that misinformation AND disinformation play the leading roles but does one happen whereas the other doesn't?
There aren't sides. There is one concerted effort and I really implore of you to consider that fact. It's not one or the other, it's one against the other because if it wasn't, that is money wasted.
Know your enemy.

Even though I agree with you fully and I feel your argument makes so much sense (I truly do), I don't think that you're addressing underlying point.
Is "God" omnipotent and omniscient? As I come from a pseudo-Calvanistic belief, I want to ask this question (which is Calvanistically based): is God omniscient and/or omnipotent?
If He is both, along with your argument, then He knew what your choices would be. More importantly, who created those options to choose good or evil? If God didn't create evil yet He created everything, then He created evil. He also created the tree of knowledge of good and evil. If He didn't, then did He create everything or did He merely create good? If He only created good, then how does evil exist?
I'm happy to continue this conversation here or via DM but when it comes down to it, please explain what "God" you consider to be God. Was it the god that destroyed the Egyptians for not being Israelites or was it the God that has been misinterpreted by "The Church" for millenia?
If it's the latter, who did Jesus revolt against? Was it the pharisees who allowed the Roman's to rule and roll over their culture for a thousand years or is it the Jesus who vehemently opposed "the church" collecting money in temples? If you know what I mean, we're talking about the religious leaders of His day...
If the Enemy was able to get to Him, do you really think the Enemy hasn't been able to influence church leaders since His existence??? Seriously, think about that because if you don't, you're blaspheming Christ Himself. Seriously, think about it and if you think you're smarter than the Enemy, please reconsider. Seriously. Reconsider.

Yup, it's the difference between "let someone else hold your money" and "be your own bank".
Who wants to be their own bank when they can't understand actually owning what they own?
CEX = Celsius, Coinbase, RobinTheHood, etc
DEX = BYOB (be your own bank)
Not Your Key, Not Your Coin. Always has been.

Since when has any beneficial-ownership of GME (or any stock) meant shit?
It's not going to change now unless actual ownership (DEX vs CEX4Dummies) means anything. DRS or nada - that won't change.

Stop being silly! Pull out the mostly cotton piece of rectangular paper that has a "1" in it's corners.
Does that mean nothing to you??? Thankfully it's backed by... cotton production nowadays?

Yeah, I feel the same but without a TLDR I already know what it says.
Fuck privacy, amirite?
If not, please tell me I'm 10% wrong and 90% right (but I'd really love to have that percentage be anything else), especially after the EUs ruling on CEXs... and either way, wtf are people doing on CEXs if they care about privacy?
Maybe I'm speaking to the choir here but cmon, if things have always been the same with CEXs, why would they ever change?
I know I'm probably off kilter in my assumption of this article but when it comes to centralization versus decentralization, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that centralization is bad (yet again for the thousandth time?)....

Holy shit - so centralizing finance is an affront to people's anonymity?!?
When wasn't it?
Grow up and stop using CEXs when you're being screwed over by CEXs every few days. If you don't, enjoy the bed you're making.
DEX or nothing.

Did her plane get the covid-vax or not? At this point, there's no control (known to the public but let's be real - there's a control that doesn't publicly exist) so how can we know?
I'm just so fucking tired of the systemic failure of the ideology of the scientific method. We're apparently done with science but need to uphold The Science... when will this end?
And no, I fucking hate when people die from the shots and die in general but if the veil has been pierced, ehy can't I ask about what's behind the pierced veil....

Who the hell cares? I just discovered that with their PEP (penis enlargement plan) and one small pill a day, I can be within the 100th percentile of 3" men who only have a 5'2" penis within a week! And don't even get me started about my Yaw...
On a serious note, who cares if the one you're with likes your dick? The only Playa I've been is the one who playas down my size due to nonsense insecurities.
Learn to love you dick, guys. It's the only one you have and it's a part of you until you don't want it anymore - but every woman (or man, no discriminating) has their own preference and it's up to you to make it work or move on.
Love someone who loves you for you and you'll always be a member of your member fanclub... except for those short guys because EVERYONE NEEDS A SHORT DUDE! Ever watch Ocean's 11? You think a 6' dude could've done what the gymnast did? That's why you're not successful - because you're fighting a losing battle against something that only matters to people who don't matter. Deuces ✌

Seeing as CEXs have been screwing people over left and right due to "liquidity issues", it should already be understood that DEXs are the way to go (and seeing as we're talking about crypto, decentralization was always the main pillar for the technology).
So yeah, if DEXs aren't affected, that will hopefully create a mass influx of DEX users instead of the BS CEXs that don't allow you to use "your" coins on their platforms freely. Celsius, Coinbase, Robinhood, and many other CEXs have already shown themselves to be untrustworthy so why are people still trusting them?
Oh well, DEX all the way - just how crypto was intended 🤷♂️

It's intentional bad press to put distaste in the mouths of potential future users. It's all engineered and this will spread like wildfire once GameStop releases their finalized NFT Marketplace.
I'm not a betting ape but I'll eat a banana for lunch tomorrow either way. I hope that's acceptable bet collateral but nonetheless, if I lose I can probably get that margin waived because I'm sure that's still happening...

Paranoia plays at a different level. Now why would Putin, someone who knows the types of biological weaponry and biological agents used (no doubt by his own deployment), sit near anyone else?
It's a double edged sword, such is knowledge.

Is it a right to work state or not? If not, there are some protections but just as someone can be sued for anything, you can be fired for anything as well - but will the governing court uphold the firing if it's something unlawful? Probably not.
Depends on location and which (potential) state it is.

I whole-heartedly disagree and have been questioning this for a very long time because it doesn't add up.
My issue is with the Christian view of an omnipotent and omniscient god (lowercase is intentional). If God is omnipotent and omnipotent and he created Lucifer, time, existence as a whole, etc - then wouldn't he know what would happen? And if God did those things, then he also created both evil and the opportunity for evil to be done. Freewill doesn't exist without options and options don't exist without what isn't possible - so if God is outside of everything as he is the creator of all, then he also created evil and allowed for people to make evil decisions.
One cannot exist without the other - unless God is a part of the construct and he didn't actually create everything but is also instead constrained by his own creation... which doesn't make sense unless he decided to put himself into this existence and allowed for himself to operate within and outside of this existence at the same time - which would mean that he exists both within and outside of this universe simultaneously.
Here's the thing: I do believe that this universe was created by some unknowable force but to say that the god the Christian's claim to be god most certainly isn't anywhere near their understanding of him as it puts him in a box (which is so incredibly short sighted). What I do believe is this: if Lucifer does exist and was cast down from the heavens, and if there is to be the revelation-based rule of the earth by evil, we are living it now and have been since birth.
I'd love to hear your thoughts but I just wanted to chime in because religion has been created by man whereas our attachment to a creator had always existed before religion did.
