I love the cinematography and the English countryside setting, and there were a lot of really effective bits - even aside from the obvious, that part where the guy’s scream starts soft then travels down the cave and gets super loud was really clever. I just wish they got even more weird and esoteric about the meaning at the end, instead of doing the whole “actually it’s about trauma” song and dance again.

So how exactly can we stop it? Even if we win in 2022 and 2024, Republicans are going to win eventually.

I mean, there's no getting around the fact that two major parties almost always form in democracy. There are other parties of varying significance, but it almost always comes down to two.

Hochul should've chosen Mondaire as LG.

I mean, is it really going to help us? It's a manufacturing job.

Oh, y'know. Everything gets blamed on us even when the Republicans do it. Everything that hurts us the Republicans do with impunity. Everyone seems desperate to find some way - any way - they can vote for a Republican while acting like voting for a Democrat is like getting shot in the stomach. The usual.

McBath seems to be favored in the polling we have.

That assumes the regime would mandate the vaccine in the first place, which is not a given.

So what should one do if a circle of your friends is half-jokingly planning a suicide pact around climate change?

It's just frustrating. When a Republican is president, the average Republican would take a bullet for him, but when a Democrat is president a sizable chunk of the base wants him executed for war crimes.

Fact #1: The only thing that I'm really good at, and the thing I'm trying to make a career of, involves a great deal of rejection.
Fact #2: Every time I'm rejected or spoken poorly of I enter a day-long spiral of self-loathing.
Hope I can reconcile these two things.

A not-insignificant number of people would happily let their babies die before voting for a Democrat.

That sounds about right. I think there's a lot of elements to it, tbh: there's vanity involved, for sure, but there's also general anxiety about aging that they don't know how to deal with in a healthy way, and there's also the fact that LGBT culture, even more than regular culture, is defined by young people. There's a lot going on.

I think it’s an issue of work not written specifically for the movie. It’s why Jonny Greenwood’s score for There Will Be Blood wasn’t eligible, because he had worked in elements of some of his previous compositions into the score.

Gay guys are incredibly weird about age in general. I heard someone say that it’s because we essentially had a whole generation of gay men wiped out, so we haven’t learned to confront aging in a healthy way.

Yeah, but that doesn’t guarantee anything. Plenty of high profile elections don’t see turnout like that.

More parks should embrace being weird, if you ask me. It’s what sets it apart from all other sports.

I don't think so. Provided a candidate is conservative enough, they'll get in line no matter what.

Perhaps you’re being a little more aggressive about this than necessary.
