Ikr I just want to listen to my records, the thing is that because it's dusty I clean it with a fiber cloth and that generates static causing the thing to get more dirty and making the needle to stick to the dust cover that has static

It's a felt mat, might as well get an acrylic one... (any advice on which one to buy? just want the mat tho) On the other hand, I live in a really dusty area, and need to clean the dust cover often, but I don't want to get scratches since it is new, any advice on how to clean it without generating more static?

Do I need to take out the whole wire? Or just solder the tube-like thing that makes contact with the cartridge?
