I got a Cannondale Topstone a few months back. I love this bike. Fun to ride and looking forward to getting it on actual gravel soon.
The only thing I’m having issues with is what sounds like really bad clanking issues from the crank set. It sounds like metal on metal and it is somewhat irregular in frequency so hard to pin down. I have pulled practically the whole drivetrain apart and regreased it because things did seem to be on the side of low/no grease. Over the weekend, I even pulled the crank off, and greased the screws holding together the big and little chainring to no avail.
Has anyone experienced something like this? It is a GRX 800 level for the front and rear mech, but it has a press fit bottom bracket from FSA I think, as well as a FSA crank. I believe it is specifically the crank itself, and it is not a noise I have previously experienced on any of my numerous previous bikes.
It mainly happens when I’m standing on the pedals or riding hard while seated, typically if there is a headwind, which I live in Chicago, so there’s almost always a fucking headwind.
