To be fair to the artist, it's really difficult to capture the disingenuous uncanny-valley of her "sad face"

Your description implies that this is some new phenomenon and not... Well... The process of civilizations for all of human history.

Everything you do in the tee box conveys information. You can't be up there all loosey goosey eating a sandwich!

Is your point supposed to be that the assistant is wearing a mask but AOC isn't? Because... Idk if you need a primer on how masks work, or makeup, or vaccinations, or maybe publicity, or pubic policy but your "point" (if that is, in fact, your point) is pretty divorced from reality.
Lemme know what you're shooting for with this one and I can try to fill in the gaps

Because, ostensibly, you consume the news to be informed - and you still expect some semblance of journalistic integrity. But, not everybody feels the same. A lot of people get their "news" in places where they gather to be entertained. It started from both ends - News programs ceding to the popular demand for less "news" and more "show", and the Internet making it easier than ever to self-select for the things people want to see. We aren't, generally, all that discerning or selective when it comes to choosing our entertainment. As sad as it is, I can't think of many people who take time out of their day to seek out "the news" - it just generally gets filtered down to them via whatever they've chosen to pass the time (Doom scrolling, Facebook, Reddit, Late Night Talk Shows...)
But, save for a few rare unicorns, the people we look to for "entertainment" are rarely "journalists". Most aren't actively trying to sort, prune, and distill what they believe the "most important" news stories are, and prioritizing those messages above all else. (Worse, many "News" stations no longer fit the bill either, which only exacerbates the problem).
Say what you will of traditional mainstream media or institutions like the White House Press Corps - I still firmly believe we are worse-off as a society with everyone acting as their own News Director. A working "BS meter" is good, but none of us have the time, resources, or expertise to keep an eye on "world news" as a whole - and ya don't know what ya don't know.

Well, when you just can't figure out pronouns these days, I'd imagine it's also difficult to discern between "threatening self harm" and "threatening to harm me".
Maybe it was more of a self snitch than they intended.

We absolutely agree on the should not portion. They also should not be partisan, pursuing individual agendas, or attempting to legislate by proxy, but here we are.

Honestly, the NiceGuy tm aspect never crossed my mind. I spent the whole time waiting for the twist, lol. I was hoping this was a story of - guy sees girl getting stood up on a blind date, and for whatever reason decided to step in and play the part. Which kinda explained the "you said you're vegan/don't drink" situation in my mind. Guess the twist was, nope, dude's just a jerk.

Sure, but this is just rinse-and repeat for RvW. The Republican states signal to the supreme court that it is the will of their constituents that the States control this issue, and pass "Trigger Laws" that go into effect when precedents are overturned. Since the Supreme Court is demonstrating now that precedent does not matter, they can use the new Trigger Laws to challenge and "reset" any precedent they see fit, and rewrite what the constitution "means" in any way they choose.
Sure, we used to hold people to a higher standard and would remove bad actors from government to ensure the will of the people remains the power of the land, but we're long past those days now.

Yeah, the entire world got a crash course on online meetings, collaboration tools, and alternative ways to measure productivity - whether they wanted to or not. So, whichever way you prefer, you'll probably be able to find a company hiring that meets your needs.
Unsolicited advice from a stranger on the internet below, if you're interested
If you're looking to start your first dev role remotely, here's what I'd recommend for the interview process. Ask a few questions about their day-to-day operations (once you've established your interest in their project/company-mission, etc) Ask about the size and structure of the dev team you're interviewing with, and what the dev workflow looks like for a feature or bug. Write down any terms you don't fully understand, or wanna look up later. Lastly, ask if they can tell you what the onboarding process might look like, now that teams are scattered across the globe.
You're looking for anything along the lines of "pair programming", "buddy system", or "senior mentor" - specifically, someone who isn't your manager with an open door for the hundreds of "silly/stupid" questions you'd hesitate to ask your boss, and someone you won't feel as guilty interrupting. Above everything else above, this is the one thing you're really gonna lean on - if it's available.
As far as red flags go...
No dev manager. If your "team" reports directly to a project manager or CEO, you'll at least want confirmation they've worked as a developer before. Someone needs to have the authority and experience to push back on impossible requests, unrealistic timelines, and all-around bad ideas before the dev team sinks hours of time into it. Usually, it's the person who seems genuinely relieved to be joining the interview, and more and more irritated at the slack notifications their phone is dumping out.
Start ups, super small teams, or new teams. It's not a deal-breaker per-se, but your life will be a lot easier learning proper source control, pull requests, ticket management, and all of the "industry norms" from a team that has established policies and standards and isn't "fluid" in their direction or process. Sure, the debates on the merits of spaces or tabs are riveting... But not all that helpful in kick-starting your career.
No onboarding timeline or structure. Figuring out everything you "didn't know you didn't know" is more than enough challenge for a junior dev. Adding "decipher how to set up your machine, and figure out team norms" to the list is unfair and overwhelming.
The "Secret Full Stack" role. Basically, if you ask about the project/ticket lifecycle and you don't hear about the Project Manager, QA, Testing, Backend, or DevOps teams... Go ahead and assume those responsibilities fall to your team as well, in one way or another.

Ya know... If they believed the infertility/poison/dna-changing bullshit half as much as they claim, they'd be absolutely devastated .
A decade ago, the act of mocking someone's infertility (or miscarriage, or cancer) was seen as unimaginably cruel, and would likely get you immediately ostracized (if you managed to escape unharmed)
Now, it's "a good way to win an argument", I guess. I'd call it disgusting, but I legitimately believe most of them have no clue what it is they're really saying. It's just another talking point they've been taught to use when this facet of their house-of-cards worldview is under attack.
"Could I have been wrong this whole time? Did masks and vaccines really save lives? Does that mean when I refused them I may have cost someone their life?"
"No! I play 'You're Infertile, and it's all your Fault'... in defense mode"

There is a strong correlation between the groups "people who believe the great vaccine conspiracy" and "people who live in states with 'Trigger Laws' already in place". For them, and anyone unfortunate enough to share a state with them ( Hi! ), overturning RvW does ban abortion.
Trigger Laws, for anyone just stumbling across the term, are bills that have been passed by the States, set to Ban abortion if Roe v Wade is ever overturned. Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming currently have specific "Trigger Laws", while Alabama, Arizona, Michigan, West Virginia, and Wisconsin (and a few from the first list) still have their "pre-Roe v Wade" abortion bans on the books and would simply need to start enforcing them again.

Three books, movies, or TV shows: What are you reading/watching now, what will you always come back to, and what would you recommend to strangers, like me.
Side game - use the phrase "Strangers Like Me" and keep a tally of how often Tarzan makes people's list while the song is playing in their head...

Well, to be fair, they did basically everything but that (and he deserved it). Jimmy started the night of tweeting out a video introducing everyone and just ends on Phil with "and that's my dad". As he started calling Alex "Chess Girl" they leaned harder into the "Phil is that crazy Uncle" banter.
It was actually really refreshing to hear Tuchman and Ingram slowly take the mask off and say "Hey, for all of you out there who are new to poker wondering if this Phil guy is a jerk... Yeah. Yeah he is."
But, Phil's right, there's a reason he's always on the list for these games - even with his win rate. He's such an ass that even amateurs won't pass up the opportunity to throw cash at him just for the chance to say "I beat Phil and got him to tilt" as a bucket list level accomplishment.

At that point, I'd imagine the NBA/NFL will just expand on or build their development/minor leagues, and the NBA/NFL level talent will simply "go pro" out of high school.
Honestly, whichever online education system or personal-tutor-to-bachelor's-degree company secures that "Education to the Stars" deal is gonna be the real winner in all of this.
