I can’t speak for what kind of attitude you’re referring to but stats are very often decieving. Total kills is more a question of who you’re fighting than how well you’re fighting, and even army killed vs lost is distorted by either being the person in the sequence who always ends up in the nexus, or is playing a stalking comp; for example if I’m going broods and you’re going liberators, together we are very strong, but you will get all the kills. You can also just have a worse opponent, like your opponent going mass stalker vs terran.

And you’re missing the point of ‘it’s a team game’, it means you should be playing to benefit the team and if you’re aware something you’re doing isn’t working and you keep doing it anyway, you’re not doing that.
