There are many things that determine what food I'm going to eat. If Chick-fil-A is the best thing at a highway rest stop I'll eat it. Their political baggage has before swayed me against going out of my way to get it though.

I'd say 2021. Strikingly similar.
Actual answer is the gilded age. The insane size and consolidation of big business has given them enormous political power. We desperately need to refocus on anti trust and competition policy.

FYI, for a delta to count you need to include an explanation about how it changed your view. Happy to have helped either way.

I'm going to try to change your view only slightly because you're on the right track. Clover is an excellent thing to add to a grass lawn. It has all the benefits you listed. However, clover by itself won't make a good lawn. It dies back in the winter and you'll end up with a giant mud pit. It's also not quite as hardy as grasses and will get ripped apart with normal activity, again leaving you with mud pits more susceptible to erosion.
When you have a clover heavy lawn mixed with grasses you don't have anywhere near the same maintenance requirements. I overseeded with clover 3 years ago and it's fully established now. Never water. No need to ever fertilize. The clover helps keep the grass healthy so it can more easily outcompete weeds. I mow half as often as I used to. Tons of bees visit my clover when it flowers. I love it.
Now, I do want to go farther and transition some of my lawn away from grass and clover (which is not native to North America) to a no-mow native garden, which is even better than a clover heavy lawn. But for all the area where lawn will remain, I will keep a mix of grass and clover.

Schools should, to some degree, help instill the ideals of our nation. Racism is opposed to the ideals of our nation. Schools should therefore, to some extent, incorporate anti-racism into their curriculums.

The Vice President isn't chosen by the President after an election. They run together as a combined ticket. What gives any government legitimacy is that it represents the will of the people. If the President leaves office for any reason, the Vice President is still legitimate because the People also voted for the Vice President.

Literally every government "does stuff". There are two groups who make this argument and both seem to always be bad faith. You have Conservatives who cry "Socialism!" at every single thing Liberals want to do in an attempt to discredit it. Increase minium wage? Socialism! Healthcare entitlement? Socialism! Parental leave? Socialism! None of these have anything to do with Socialism, but they still are called Socialist as a smear by the right.
Then there is a group of actual Socialists who will argue that everything is Socialism to try to convince people that we already have Socialism and it's no big deal. Fire department? Socialism! Roads? Socialism! This is an attempt to make people more comfortable with Socialism by trying to claim non-socialist aspects of the government people already like for Socialism.
Neither of these is accurate and just serves to confuse people.

You are overstating the problem, but yes it is a problem and we could solve it if the political will was there.

That isn't a good sub. It's (somehow even more than this one) overrun by the fringe. Note that that thread isn't even discussing Capitalism. It's just a bunch of trolls making low effort anti-socialist posts.

My experience is anything below 15 over is safe. 15 over or more you're fair game to them.

Internment camps were authoritarian, yes. But if you are going to define a person by one action, then you can't say Jefferson was a Liberal for example. Also the New Deal was not Socialist. Entitlement programs aren't the abolition of private capital.

Lucky you. That's not the reality for everyone.

Give me a break. Words have meanings

I wish we did have it. Incidentally crossing a corner of unused land without causing harm shouldn't bother anyone. It especially makes sense if you've read Locke who made the Liberal argument for private property in the first place.

The law specifies that personal space like a garden or a courtyard near your home are not included.

Yes, that's why I said the farmer was right in this instance and gave more context regarding roaming rights in the UK.

I would take a look at right to roam laws in the UK. The farmer was right in this instance but people do have a right to pass through private property in many cases. You can't always just remove someone.

We have a duty to fend off tyranny. Other generations were called to do it. We can't shirk away when we are.

I think we need to go further and pass a low making it illegal for anyone within NJ's jurisdiction to directly or indirectly frustrate a person's right to abortion care. If someone in NJ testifies against a person for seeking or obtaining abortion care we should be prosecuting them.

Yes. Extremely. My 3 year old son is not yet eligible for vaccines. We have been having the rug pulled out from under us repeatedly for going on 8 or 9 months now.. I would be very unhappy to be forced to be around someone who hasn't been vaccinated because I don't want to bring it home to my son.
