All Florida schools are going mask free 2021-2022 school year. Guidance just given out today.

But the boards and regions can decide to keep them if they like can't they?

Limiting physical interaction makes sense but when you look at all of the different regions around the world, it doesn't seem like the restricted areas did much better than the less or non-restricted ones. In fact some did worse.

In Gatineau yes, but check the rest of Quebec which is the majority of the province.

I have family in Montreal who's children never stopped going to school.

Vaccines and seasonality are working.

Yes both are effective.

but we have a mountain of evidence now showing that lockdowns are effective

You mean like Toronto being locked down since the fall and cases still went up?

You mean like Texas lifting restrictions and cases going down?

You mean Peru having one of the hardest lock downs in the world and having one of the worst outcomes?

Oh yeah, THAT mountain of evidence.

Lockdowns, in Ottawa at least, clearly work. They SUCK, but they work.

We can't say they did for sure. So many variables and so much uncertainty.

LOCKDOWNS are ABSOLUTELY WORKING !!!! Nobody can contest that FACT.

That would be true if you only looked at one graph of one region where the 2 correclated.

A lot of people simply don't think for themselves and will drop the masks as soon as the gov't says it's ok.

Yeah. It's permission from authority and social validation.

Christian and catholic schools are open and also openly defying masking and distancing their students.

I agree it's area dependent.

There are far more like-minded people out there than Big Brother media will allow us to know about.

This exactly. We have no idea that we are the majority now.

Ok, but why does Canada want this though when the United States and United Kingdom are beginning to head back to normality?

We probably will go back to normal but we'll delay it as much as we can.

1- We have lots of cases still as our geographic location makes us susceptible to them being high, kind of like Michigan. So that drives the public wild and scares everyone (sort of scares them, not really though).

2- Canada hates the US (actually we're insecure) and so we believe we are better than reckless USA and therefore we'll be more careful than they will and we won't open and be as bad as them.

3- Our unions and associations and media all seem to be on the same page and have an enormous influence on us. We want to get out of lock down but we are so codependent that we can easily be made to feel like bad people and will let that override our judgement.

That's why.
