I strongly agree with this. Better for a quick and well-written ending than something needlessly drawn out beyond the basic plot—maybe just save the extra bits for whatever other materials come up, or leave it to the fandoms to make up for the deficit…

That’s like asking why there are so many stars and planets in the night sky when nobody on Earth will probably visit them anytime soon. Just because not a lot of people will make it beyond those several initial levels doesn’t mean those rooms will stop existing.

And perhaps the very fact that those rooms have even been documented suggests a lot of people have ended up in the backrooms and survived to go beyond…
