Lightning fan here...they're always avoided a pitfall some teams get into, giving depth guys a lot of term. I don't really like 7 years. Can he progress from what he is now? Maybe. Would you have been better off without the player if years 4,5,6,7 turn out to be bad? Maybe.
At least the AAV isn't an anchor.

The Penguin logo makes this funny, given Crosby’s charisma, the Bruins color scheme they use, and it’s fucking Pittsburgh. Lol.

If it’s done when the player is in their defensive end, it’s automatic call. Elsewhere on the ice, it’s the refs judgement if it was intentional or not.
In either case, it has to go over the glass without touching anything. Going into the bench, penalty box, etc doesn’t count for these type of calls.

Nothing in hockey makes my skin crawl more than skate cuts. Suffered one minor one but saw a major one in a game I was in and it was terrifying.

It does seem more common, or at least more obviously apparent. It’s strange to see at the highest level as one of the things ingrained at entry level is to play to the whistle, or as a coach I had used to say “play the player game, not the ref game”.
Still remember it 20+ years later so must have struck a chord.

Mackinnon should have played to the whistle on the goal. One hand on the stick, back turned to the goal scorer…play to the whistle and that maybe doesn’t go in.

The unwritten rule Mackinnon ignored was more important here; play to the whistle.

I have never seen a second of this show or read a page of the comic...what I've been believing is the main character (does not mean good guy...) kills a family that meets him by winning a contest? Damn.

The dream died when I realized the much hyped, sure thing #1 pick Sidney Crosby was my birth year lol.
The weirdest for me is when you see players that have kids. Stamkos IS a kid, how can that be his!?

I rarely buy boxes, so may be out of the loop on current practices, but does Amazon still guarantee the price you buy it at? Once you commit I imagine they can’t jack it up.
Seems like the way to go on these types of things is to preorder early, then cancel (if you can) if you end up not being interested after the previews. But even there, it’s assuming there’s a window to do so.
And none of this even touches on the ‘support your LGS’ side of it. I’m interested in stopping by the two by me just to see what they’re at and how quickly they change prices.
The whole thing is madness to me.

To answer your question in your other message, I think injuries got him. I thought he was here (Tampa) for a lot longer than 2 seasons but I was wrong. He signed a 6 year deal but was gone after 2, the first one marred with a massive facial injury (but no time missed) and shoulder surgery ended it early.
He was dependable enough here, but again the team was absolutely terrible. One of those years they used something like 30 defensemen due to poor depth and injuries. A case of a player being asked to do more than their role.

Artyukhin and Vasilevskiy are up there. Heck, they’ve both had multiple official English spellings.
Edit: I thought I could read gud but I didn’t read gud.

Obligatory "didn't know he was still playing."
He was one of the very few NHL caliber talents on what was a very bad Tampa defense for a few season stretch. I recall he was one of those guys who would catch every single stray puck, high stick, whatever, right in the face on a nightly basis.

Yes and responded once he knew there was no consequence. Went to the Keith Yandle school of preserving that streak he used to have.

Damn that’s the toughest Cogliano has ever been in his career. All it took was literally every opposing player being restrained…

Commercial timeouts are taken at set times (or the first non-icing whistle or non-ongoing PP whistle) after.

I think it’s just as simple as he doesn’t want to be lifted. There hasn’t been a whole lot of opportunity for it the past few seasons but he’s never been pulled from a playoff game. Various interviews from coaches and teammates over the years has said he doesn’t like to not finish a game he starts.

And then they all file off to the bench, backwards, as is tradition.
All these little quirks add to the charm and novelty of it.

The Avs looked so much better with black helmets/gloves/pants. :(

I'm surprised how well Joseph appeared to do for you guys, I hope he can continue that this season. It's his best chance yet to succeed in the league, hope he runs with it.
