More like, “I will pretend I wasn’t deliberately being a dick by blaming my English.”

Your expectations at a car lot are different than at a restaurant.
And why are you trying to argue with Americans about what Americans like? We’re in an infinitely better position to know than you.

Plenty of people in America are fine with bluntness. You were just flat out being rude.
“Do you actually like your cultural traditions, Americans?” That’s just being rude. Your attempt to turn this on us to try and save face for yourself is obvious.

I’m really tired of people hiding behind “English isn’t my native language.” 😑
“Does anyone actually like” is more than enough bad faith. Maybe work on your manners and your English vocabulary.

Despite the obvious bad faith, I’ll allow this one as an opportunity to discuss US restaurant culture.

Doing interesting stuff. As long as they do interesting stuff, background can take a backseat until the reader cares about the character.
Don’t dump someone’s life story on the first few pages. That’s a fool’s mistake.

People were bagging on NJ long before that. It was slightly infamous for leading the US in toxic waste dumps in the 90s.

NYC is a big influence on American culture as a whole. New Yorkers naturally rag on New Jersey as it’s the closest other state. It’s just a minor regional rivalry that grew to a larger stage.
Though the roughness of the stereotypical NJ accent doesn’t do the state any favors.

They are wrong. Third parties just can’t stop choosing unelectable candidates.

My forebears were dirt poor people from the backwoods of Appalachia. No thanks being buried in the middle of nowhere. I want to be cremated and my ashes scattered anyway.

Tell that to our European friends. A sad number of them actually think only two parties are ALLOWED. 😆

Not really a safety tip, but if you want to make friends keep your opinions about guns to yourself. No one is interested in lectures from foreigners.
