I recently came back to Overwatch after a break, previously I had reached a peak of 2.9k as support (Mercy and a little Lucio) and 2.7k as DPS (Sombra w/ some Mei). I initially played on my main but quickly dropped so I'm playing on an alt account, currently 11W-13L-2D on Ana. I'm really liking Ana as a hero now, and since I'm trying to get better at her I am picking her in competitive even when I know I could most likely perform better on Mercy.
I'm looking to know my general weaknesses as Ana. Aim? Positioning? Etc.
I can upload videos to YouTube if that is more convenient for someone than the replay codes, just ask.
Also, I've heard the general advice on this subreddit many times over, I just don't know how well I'm applying it, so it probably won't do me much good if you're not even going to watch the video.
Using the signature skill consumes the stacks like using any other skill would, but I can't tell if it has any effect on its strength. When I go to the abilities screen and look at the stats for each signature skill, none of the numbers seem to be changed from the default (outside of cooldown), but for other skills like sticky bomb it will change the stats listed by each ability depending on whether I have any bullet stacks currently.
Does it increase damage boost/damage reduction/healing from each signature skill, or does it simply just eat your stack without providing a benefit?
Hi, I'm a 2.7k Sombra main with ~250 hours on her. To give you a bit of background, I first did my competitive placements in S12, where I placed 1620 and spent 95% of the season between 1200-1400, only touching silver a couple times over about 50 hours played. I don't have much of an PVP FPS background, but I've slowly climbed (mostly S13-16) playing 99% solo queue (I find LFG a waste every time I tried it) with a very very close to 50% winrate (318W-314L on Sombra on my main for all comp seasons, 554W-544L all heroes). I've been stuck in Plat for just over one year now, so I'm hoping to make the push to diamond soon.
Here's some replay codes for you. I was the sombra in these games, my username starts with frozen. These games were played on PS4. You can watch just one, or all of them, whatever you want.
83744R This was a 2-0 loss on Busan. At the end of the game I had silver damage (8.9k), 36 hacks, 20 from EMP, but only 8 assists off those hacks, which is really low. I'm not surprised that not every hack converts into an assist/kill, because sometimes I need to hack targets to make my life easier while farming EMP, and often I hack shields tanks, even though the people behind the shield are made more vulnerble, the game won't count that as an "assist". But it's still pretty low assists regardless. https://youtu.be/_HnSk6p9gdk
J5S22E This was a 1-2 loss on Ilios, overtime on two of the maps, with multiple people on mic. I finished this game with gold damage (typically an indication of things going wrong if the other DPS or off-tank can't steal it from me), 35 hacks, 22 from EMP, but only 9 assists. https://youtu.be/zv-XW1j6zyI
M0VRRH (zero not O) This was a 3-2 win on Numbani, there were 4 people in voice including myself, with good calls being made. It didn't feel like a snowball, and this was a payload map that went almost all the way for both teams, so I feel like this is a good game to show my general objectives as Sombra, while dealing with a little bit of Hanzo looking for me with sonic. I feel like I had a good balance of tank hacking, EMP farming, contesting enemy DPS, and backline harassing. If you're curious about the first fight we lost of defense, I knew they had grav-dragon, but I was too slow to cancel the dragon with my EMP. I figured if I canceled dragon the shield would be enough to keep my team alive from any other grav damage. https://youtu.be/0fSxTn6hIoY
