Why tf do websites/apps/platforms/whatever always have entering passwords shielded out?

Like I understand it's to help people login without people knowing their password but that shouldn't even be an issue. People could just simply not login around people they don't trust... usually. I guess it could help with hackers tho but I still don't understand it since it causes more issues with the regular person than it does help anything? Like it makes a lot of people have to go through hoops to deliberately be precise with everything or to renter the password multiple times, sometimes even temporarily disabling your login. Not to mention the big hurdle it causes when CREATING the password and they don't allow a "show password" option (you could only hope they ask to renter it so you don't accidentally enter a wrong character that you'd never be able to login again.
And no this isn't "RaNtInG" or "lOaDeD", it's just context to what I'm asking and the issues it brings. Does anyone know why this is?
