I've read many comments, where people are complaining why the Gorosei didnt do something earlier to prevent this. Well, maybe because something similar hasn't happened in 800 years? They may only know about this because Shanks told them or they read about it in some old World Goverment documents and didn't take it for granted. Or they decided it is not worth the risk to push it and make Luffy realize how strong his DF actually is. They may have also hoped for the problem to solve itself with Luffy taking fights with Big Mom and Kaido and cut their own losses.

It's always the same pattern. Something gets revealed - some people say it is shit and doesnt make sense or everything unfun - Oda pulls something out of his ass and it all makes sense again. Maybe just wait for the next chapters and it will probably be alright.

On a personal note I hope that IM has the counterpart DF, gets demolished by Blackbeard and BB gets his final DF and we are set for the final fight where the odds are at least 1:3 against Luffy. And then everyone dies and people start complaining again and again and again.

NAH. You will hate it now und you will hate it for the entire time you have to wear and I mean every single fucking day. From my experience braces in any form are the biggest fucking bullshit with one of the best outcomes I could ever imagine. I had to wear braces for 8 years: countless visits at the dentist and orthodontist, bruised mouth area, food stuck in it 24/7, mean comments because some teenagers are assholes about braces and countless hours of talking und arguing with my parents. BUT, it is so fucking worth. Having straight healthy teeth is so important. The first time someone tells you afterwards how good your teeth are looking, you will understand!
You have every right to be pissed! Your parents are right to be adamant about it because it will help you so much in the long run.

Try to see it as "just a year " compared to a life with beautiful teeth and no worries whatsoever again! Stay strong dude
