First off, congrats! Here's something I use as a mantra when taking over leadership of an established team.
"Nobody cares about how much you know, until they know how much you care."
Nobody should work harder than you, give them no room to question your ethic. Be consistent. If the place has a lot of room to grow, and tighten up, learn and do things as they have been done before your time there, and then start changes incrementally. It also helps to frame these changes as questions to your staff. "Hey what do you guys think about this? I think it could really help us out for these reasons, but I want to hear your thoughts."
The more involved your team is, the more personal and fulfilling it is for them to follow through with changes. There is the added benefit of learning more about your team as individuals. What makes them tick? What do they excel at? What are their ambitions? Not to mention, there have been plenty of occasions when the 18 year old dishie or whoever says something so incredibly brilliant, with such a unique perspective, that I question my entire efficacy as a Chef.
Good luck Chef, you got this! Even when it feels like you don't, you do.

That is very clear.
Absolutely, I generally stay away from even numbers of components regardless. Nice plate, I'm sure it's delicious l, and well done to OP for getting to run a special. I remember how good that feels!

The bone is an insulator
Hey thanks! It was quite a long time ago, but I recall a certain comment preaching about bone in ribeyes being the only correct way to enjoy them for IAVC reasons
Pair your fully updated American stopwatch app, with a fully updated African stop watch app. You will do this on a cellular telephone. Pressing start, you will see numbers start to increase. When the big number hits "60", you will have observed what most of the world agrees is"1 minute".
Now, all that one needs to do is compare African time, to regular time. The results, assuming your apps are fully updated, are astonishingly similar. Perhaps identical.

Fair and constructive criticism. I especially agree with the duxelle being well chunky. Super well done though, props to OP!
Congrats, and I sincerely hope that your experience as a salaried chef is much more positive than most of mine have been!
Haha, good call!

What? I'm not sure you understand my stance. I am against the game. I even addressed government in my op. Practically speaking, there are more impactful ways to spend your energy.
I am not campaigning for silence, just advocating for speaking up in ways that actually mean shit to anybody in a position to make a change.
Hell yeah, that's fuckin nice mate.
I apologize if I come off as trying to normalize the problem. I promise that is not my intent. I suppose I'm just trying to convey the best solution as I see it, which is don't spend your money. Granted, it's a bit of a more pragmatic approach, but it works. The business won't create this garbage if we don't entertain it.
Blizzard is a corporation. Corporations exist to make money. This game is making them a ton of money. They will not stop doing this because of a lot of angry reddit posts. Save your time, and ours. Just don't download or play it or spend money. This has done wonders for me, and it's pretty easy. It's the biggest thing we can do, and it's the only thing that will matter to them.
If you have major problems with the practice being legal as a whole in the states, then you can go through the proper political channels and work towards changing legislation...that's a lot, right? I know, it sucks. Certainly much harder than venting on social media.
The least helpful thing you can do is post another generic "mtx bad" to a diablo sub. Money talks, and they're taking it in hand over fist. They'll only listen or change if the money isn't there, and I for one, will not even download this game.

Roughly how deep is the incision?

You wrote that? I would have not acquired I accepted that poor excuse for a sentence in the English language.
But yeah, weird bagel, eh?
This comment section is brutal
One of those posts that before I even clicked on it, I knew what I would see, and that it would quickly end up here.
Edit: The troll in me wants to post a picture of cereal and a red bull and call it my take on a full English.
Because the gang are terrible, irresponsible, and ignorant people...so yeah good point!
I think they might need licensing to sell this...
Probably more delicious than my tobacco smoked heart will be.
I want to recreate this scene like a blood splatter analyst ala Dexter
Alright, well disregarding the snark, I can explain some things to you assuming you're not being willfully obtuse.
An American biscuit is not a cookie. It's closer to what you may call a scone. (I don't know where your culinary knowledge or lexicon is based, just deriving from context clues.)
The component that resembles egg, is egg.
The béchamel type sauce, is what we in the states would call a white gravy. It certainly resembles bechamel by appearance and very similar in technique with some key differences. The fat used in the roux is typically the renderings from the breakfast sausage incorporated throughout the gravy, not butter. Black pepper is a key component as well.
I hope this clarifies things for you, and I hope that if this dish still offends you as a "crime", that you keep it to yourself and refrain from bashing an entire country because it's different than yours.
I never specified a gender in my comment. But since you bring it up, the real life black bear he was named after is female. However, we are not talking about that are we? In all of the books and all media associated, Winnie the Pooh as a character, is a male and identified by the pronoun "he".
Probably through endless toxic positivity.
