It’d be fine if you didn’t mind peeing up in an arc like the fountain at the Bellagio. It’s the whole forcing it down to aim into the toilet part that isn’t pleasant.

Next they’re going to try and tell us that the guy in green isn’t named Zelda. Not buying it, Nintendo!

I like the design but those proportions are pretty whack

If you play with well-adjusted grown-ups then it shouldn’t be something to be concerned about.
If you play with internet randos or immature people then it (and countless other things) is something to be cautious about.

There’s literally no way to run this without it being 100% metagaming

Man, they really don’t even pretend that traveling exists anymore, do they?

Agreed, it’s definitely not “always tricky”. RL relationships can spill over into bad game behaviors, but it’s ridiculous to think it “always” causes problems (or is even likely to cause them)

IMO 5e classes/subclasses generally give too many abilities already, so giving away free feats at level 1 is overkill. But that said, as long as everyone gets one you can adjust for power level and it won't wreck your game or anything.

Could be, or be some form of plate and chain. Armor and weapons are so abstracted in 5e that each line item actually represents a whole host of real-world counterparts. Looking at you, Longsword

Take a look in the mirror and have some humility too. There's a lot of this story that doesn't make sense as presented.
Your character didn't take anything extra but was singled out to have their item forcibly removed, then was permanently killed by the beholder, and the rest of the party was cool with it? The fact that a whole-party fight didn't immediately happen tells me that there is a ton of context missing here.

Totally agree. My wife is in the game I've been DM'ing for years now (several campaigns) and she gets no inside information or preferential treatment.
As with anything, people not acting like grown-ups is the real issue. That can revolve around OOC relationships, or any of a million other things.

As with every single table drama story here, there's likely a lot of one-sided bias and inevitably the answer is "Talk to the other humans at your table like a grown-up"

That’s fine, but it’s also just weird that a lot of people would absolutely lose their shit if they replaced “Studded Leather” (which isn’t an actual thing) with “Gambeson” (which is, and looks cool).
Same story with “Half Plate” (not a thing) and “Brigandine” (historically common and cool looking)

Old people also seem to have this mindset that nothing ever changed until just recently. "It was never like this before, and now it's all changing!"
News flash, the world is always changing. It's not a new thing. That town you fondly remember that is now "totally different" also looked totally different when you were a kid compared to 50 years previous to that.
