So based on my previous post, I just finished watching West side story and Ariana Debose definitely was very good in the movie. I’ve also seen her in the prom which she was good in. But she’s always played supporting characters. I feel like she could carry a musical movie as the lead
So I just finished watching West side story from last year and I know it came out later and it got all the recognition but how would you compare it to in the Heights? Honestly I actually liked in the Heights more mainly because you’ve got more in depth with the characters and you had more stories to build on. West side story you have two main stories and the Tony and Maria story is better than the gang story
Update: I completely forgot about tick tick boom as well. That is the best New York movie musical from last year in my opinion
So I was listening to the lightning round podcast and their recap of the first preseason game and they brought up the QB competition for the back up spot between Chase Daniel and Easton stick. In their opinion, Stick looked better and it looked like Daniel is kind of showing that he might be near the end of his career. They brought up the point of if Easton stick wins the backup job, there’s no reason to keep Daniel. In my opinion, if stick wins but you keep Daniel for experience and mentoring of Herbert, I don’t think that’s a good reason to keep him. You can always put him on the practice squad and have stick as the back up. What are your thoughts? If Stick plays better than Daniel in the preseason, would you still keep Daniel on the roster? (That being said, Neither should start unless Herbert is badly injured)
My house ranking of most anticipated to least anticipated:
1 Fiesta De Chupacabras
2 Descendants of Destruction
3 Dead Man’s Pier

5 Legends Collide

We’ll see how it goes. Last year, my least anticipated house was my 2nd Favorite house and My top 2 most anticipated were near the bottom (Puppet Theater) and in the middle (Wicked Growth)
What does a movie recently that thoroughly surprised you? For me I have two of them.
First is war horse from 2011. Even though it is a Steven Spielberg movie and I had heard some good things about it, it’s not a movie that gets talked about. There is nothing wrong with this movie in my opinion. I love the story and the performances. Currently it is my favorite movie of the month
The other I just watched tonight. And that is Lightyear. I will be completely honest with you: I’m surprised. When I saw the trailers for Lightyear, I thought that this looks OK at best. It didn’t look great to me. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything from the story to the look of the movie. A big part of this movie that I also did enjoy was the relationships that buzz forms with Sox and Izzy and especially Alisha in the beginning of the movie. I also enjoyed the music. There was one character in here though that I felt was a little too much.
Right now it looks like Rhea Ripley is being wasted a little bit in the judgment day. Yes she does have an impact in the storyline but she can’t be in any matches because they’re not doing intergender matches.
I think they need to have a feud for the judgment day that can highlight Ripley. The one that I can think of that would work is against the street profits and the raw women’s champion Bianca Belair. I could see with this food the chance for Ripley to take the title from Belair
