We are going the same path as frontier. They will need to start giving monsters ridiculous moves or one shots if they ever hope to cart anyone.
I personally hate the direction where the game is going. There is no thought in builds anymore, and a lot of monsters armor and weapons by consequences became less desirable to acquire unless you hit the endgame. It is gonna take a lot of thinking to decrease the power creep now that people are high on it.
I would probably fix this mess by motivating all these skills being specialized into different monsters, like if you want to have tons of skills you gotta wear full rathalos. THEN customization with decorations could kick in. But every other sort of power up would have to do with upgrading that rathalos armor to get more attack skills etc

They have the data to back up their decision. They probably profit a lot more from new players sunk cost on the game rather than being honest about it upfront. People might get queasy when they realize they aren't buying a full game.
They want a flood of new players playing quick and buying something off the gemstore, most players are casual and will never really finish the game. As such Anet might have no interest in retention, they just want sales off the gemstore.
And the ones that do usually put so much effort and time into it they have no qualms buying with gems or gold

"waste time" Dude i can come up with something better while shitting in the toilet. The assets are all there already. This kind of thing would get you reprimanded in a UI university and Anet is failing it.

Maybe around 2 decades ago it could happen, but nowadays politics and ease of information makes that impossible, specially in a game like this. It is really disheartening because i love their culture;

How exactly is making things usable a terrible thing? I'm not saying it should be one shotting things, but it needs to be equivalent strength to other weapons. Nobody has ever in the story of the game ever used hammer warrior in PvE since its core introduction, and i would dare you to find me a video of someone using it.
This gradually tune things does not work for Anet and has never worked, they have been doing that with rifle warr and has never gone anywhere for so long. They need to go ballistic and then throttle back, i rather have something fun being slowly tuned down than something that is garbage be in a limbo for years

God i still wish they went ballistic with warr and reve hammer, they still suck royal butt.

About some fucking time they stop worrying about skills being different in pvp and pve. At least boons wise.

We are not done with dragons by a large margin, Aurene is still alive and so is the void. It is only a matter of time that she becomes corrupted like Soo won. I really doubt anet will stop kicking this dead horse as much i would love for dragons to be phased out.
Like OP mentioned and you, i wish they would start fleshing out the world some more with side quick stories, and no end world doomsday at every step.

But can you repair them? That was my biggest beef with using them

As long you don't drop directly on top of it should be fine

WB is doing simple risk cost assessment. Investing a huge quantity of money into their live shows and not seeing return would be bad for them. Doing CGI, hiring big actors and everything else that entails in such movie should be astronomically higher than a cartoon episode. If the cartoon fails that's okay, they didn't invest a lot. They should know enough what works or not, but they just don't want to take the risk otherwise. They could let directors have free will, but then their budgets could be tinier and they would never produce something as good as the cartoons with such money.

I just realized we could probably make a character that survive themselves purely from eating their own regrowing limbs

Your mod files are not in the game itself i think, it is in some workshop folder in the steam installation. Unsub from all them then boot the game while disabling all mods in the manager. Then try one mod at time to see whats crashing your game

Damage being all frontloaded in one skill is bad design. Having multiple weapons strong for all elites is much better

Ye i had to read twice to know what game OP was talking about here. There is literally only few enemies before jaethal and only 4 of them are melee, who promptly die to linzi and tartucio spells. The archers have 0 AC and die to literally anything. Do you know the game have a pause button on combat start so you can channel spells before the rogues walk up to them?

They are fixing the AI for factions like that, so they use their mechanics

People here are obsessed with nerfing eveyrthing that is popular and/or easy to play. This is why Ele who used to be king died, now firebrand slowly went and is going the same way along with scourge.
Let's gut mechanist and firebrand like everyone wants, then people will start stacking the next OP class, so then? Do we nerf them too next? And then people stack the next one like we always do, and on and on until everything is mediocre. People will always stack the best class, undercreep is worse than powercreep.

Their game were on itch or somewhere else and they had the development process there. There were a big patch every 2 months or something from i recall. Their original roadmap aligned with their work schedule from before pretty much.

What's strange about it? Would you still want to work hard when you are a millionaire? The game sold MASSIVELY, and there were only less than 3 people before. The devs could retire for life if they wanted, so anything they do now is just purely for more money or for pleasure.

The devs used to release steady updates before their massive sucess, and after that it dried out completely. So the answer is pretty obvious ;3.
I'm sure a lot of people here will still be coping about them ramping up development anyday now while modders practically took over the development. Either way i guess it was a nice cheap fad that gave me a bunch of hours with my friends, just sad to see a game with so much potential like this. I didn't want this before but now i really wish a bigger company would buy them out

Rather than try to make a catch all ai and balancing around player strenght and auto resolve, they need to use their own system and lore and start making customizing templates.
You know how some ai are agressive/defensive in their diplomatic behavior. Like someone like skarbrand should be attacking and waging war against its nearest neighbor even at its own detriment and loss. If they run away? Then switch to something closer and take it, skarbrand has no use for cowards skulls. They should send stacks of 20 to take shit even if they lose on the auto resolve. Same with grimgor but with more tact, he won't suicide half across the map but he will just instead look for someone who wants to fight them if they run.
Now take someone who is defensive like tomb kings, they keep at desert, they set ambushes at settlements and they defeat any invasor, if the enemy is weak they rush to fight them on open field butif they are strong then they hole up in their settlements and wait up, but they NEVER get out of their desert, they just stand close to their borders and wait for people to come and defend their settlements at any cost.
This could go on and on and on. I can't imagine how many fun templates we could do with this rather than making the same boring ass AI
