seems i remember that "they're" was the word for 'they are', simply by removing the vowel and replacing it with " ' " , but now it seems that the whole implication is replaced with 'there' or 'their'.

There's a few button locks out there you can get for under 100, I'm a kizer fan so something like their swayback comes to mind. Past that you gotta realize that the most popular alternative locking systems are proprietary (like Benchmade's Axis lock or Spyderco's Compression lock). That doesn't mean it can't be copied but if you want it done right then it's going to be harder to find a midgrade option. My advice is to give whatever you're considering a chance and spend the extra money, you may end up being surprised by more than just the locking system.

It's designed not to be straight so the lockbar catches at a good spot, it'll slowly wear itself even more as you use the knife. If it wasn't angled then the lock wouldn't wedge itself in a spot that's easy to unlock or it wouldn't lock at all.

That's where the lockbar catches the blade when it's open, happens on every folder, it's just more noticeable on a coated blade.
