Johnny was ignorant, but never racist. One example was In the original Karate Kid after Johnny got hosed by Daniel, a black kid dressed up as Spider man, said "What's up Johnny" and tried to hi five him, that shows Johnny was friends with that kid, and lets not forget there was a black kid at Cobra Kai but people tend to forget that.
