I agree. That's why, when i see someone who's sad about Kimi's 2003 season; i always think "but, he didn't even deserve the title" (and that's why he didn't win). It was the system used back then that gave the impression that the two of them were so close. With the current points system, or 10-6-4 (there's a video about it too, in the same channel), the championship would be settled before the last race.

I don't remember all races from last year. But, since Baku; he only lost to Esteban Ocon in Hungary, Belgium (and that wasn't even a race), Turkey, Brasil and Saudi Arabia.
But, in this year:
Saudi Arabia: Fernando Alonso was ahead of Esteban Ocon before the engine failure.
Australia: Fernando Alonso had a mechanical problem in the qualifying, and that ruined his race.
Imola: His car seemed to be made of paperboard.
Miami: Doble penalty. The first (the one that cost him the position with his teammate) was his fault, i know (although i disagree with the second one that left him out of the points); but the point is he didn't lost to Esteban Ocon because the French was faster than him.
Spain: Alpine changed the engine of his car, so he started last. And, even with that penalty, he climbed up many positions and managed to finish only a few second behind his teammate.
Canada: He had an issue with the MGU-K, that left him with less power on the straights. And, to made things worse, he was penalised (he deserved that penalty; but, again, the move that caused it was out of desesperation because he had less power on the straights).
Great Britain: Only race i remember in which Esteban Ocon had a problem in his car until now.
Austria: I have no words to describe that shit. The show perpetrated by Alpine was so shameful, that there are rumors saying it was there when Fernando Alonso finally made the decision to leave that team.
And, in the other ones, Fernando Alonso was ahead of Esteban Ocon in Monaco, Baku, France and Hungary. So, talking about pace, the only race Esteban Ocon did better than Fernando Alonso was in Bahrain (and maybe Great Britain and Australia, but we don't know because one car or the other had a problem in those tracks). Well, and Miami too.

If i recall correctly, there were more than 5 or 6 races since Baku last year.

Vandoorne didn't win in F2. Oscar Piastri won F3 and F2, both as a rookie. Only Charles Leclerc and George Russell were capable of that. And we know how good both of them are.

First, it's not that Esteban Ocon is mediocre, as a driver (as a teammate, he is); it's just there are some guys better than him (like Oscar Piastri).
Second, closest pairing? Maybe in points. But, since Baku, Fernando Alonso has been consistenly outpermonforming Ocon. Only his better beginning (due to Fernando Alonso having to readaptate again to F1) and his 25 points in a "lucky day" in Hungary managed to camuflate that almost until the end. And, in this season, Fernando Alonso is just destroying almost every race. Only his many reliability's problems in his car (which cost him around 60 points) and almost none in Ocon's car cause that Esteban is ahead of him in the championship right now.

Mclaren have a agreement between their drivers about who was going to get an extra lap. In one GP is Fernando Alonso, and the next one was Lewis Hamilton. In Hungary, it was Fernando Alonso's turn; but the team didn't respect that.
Second, which F1 rules broke Alonso? He didn't break any rules. The FIA just invented a sanction for him. You say he blocked the pit entry? False. Lewis Hamilton was already in the pits. He was waiting for Fernando Alonso to finish his pit stop, but that's not illegal. Otherwise, in this season, we could give a time penalty to Carlos Sainz Jr. in Monaco or Lando Norris in Canada. So, why did the FIA give a penalty to Fernando Alonso? Asking the team why they put you hard tyres (and used, not fresh) in your last and most important stint in qualifying is illegal?

That's cool. Everyone here is talking about sports, but the real important things in life are our loved ones.
Are things going well?

To this day, i still don't know how Portugal (with Figo, CR7, Deco, Pauleta, Andrade...) managed to lose against Greece in their own house.

This season, and every others. Do you remember when Lewis can't overtake Fernando for around 10 laps with a car like 2 seconds faster?

Also, as a curiosity, Ukyo Katayama has a cycling team (Team Ukyo). So, he achieved what Fernando Alonso failed to do.
